Hidden gem! We came here for a bereavement lunch after the passing of our family member at Hartford hospital. The food was fantastic and the service was great! We stayed out in the heated gazebo.

This place is honestly a hidden gem. I am very familiar with Hartford and the restaurants around. Heard this one is across from hartford hospital. When I walked in I instantly fell in love with it. Went there at night and asked to sit outside. They had more than enough heaters to keep anyone warm and a fore running as well. They also have lights surrounding the outside and a gazibo is covering the porch (no wind is hitting you).

Just had the most perfect fun CHRISTMAS EVE Dinner❄⛄ ❤ in the P.A.R.I.S ROOM (Heated Outdoor shipping container in the winter) loved the whole ambiance..a whole #VIBE Food was amazing! Roasted Salmon, Eggplant Parmesan, J Burger, Crab cakes, our wait staff Morgan & Rubin were so pleasant and accommodating I highly recommend you visit J restaurant! …oh a painted back drop on the wall kept us content while waiting for our meals❤❤

I lived near Hartford Hospital when I first started my career. In those days our favorite pizza spot was Pizza Plus. Back for a conference this spring, and what do you know? Same restaurant has new name and beautiful upgrades. Still same delicious pizzas, with a better selection of sides and entrees. My colleagues were so impressed with my suggestion to dine there. What a wonderful dining experience! The host at the front initially said there were no tables available but ended up seating me at one with a later reservation since I was solo. That was a class act right from the start. My server, Andrew, was responsive, knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The food came out at just the right, too. And oooooooh the food!!! Absolutely delectable! I had the New England Clam Chowder appetizer, then grilled filet mignon with mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. Paired it with a nice glass of cabernet sauvignon and the meal was perfect. Do your tastebuds a favor abs definitely get yourself over to J’s as soon as possible! (Make sure to book your reservation in advance)

Service was slow. When it started off slow we informed the waiter that we were attending a show and we’re a little short on time. He indicated that most people there were attending the show and that we should be fine. Service remained slow and we did not complete our meals on time (we gave ourselves 80 minutes). Also, the noise from loud motorcycles regulatory cruising by detracted from the outdoor dining experience. The food was ok – not bad but not noteworthy. The cost of the meal was a little better/lower than I was expecting.

We love places where you can get a reservation for an outside table! We took a chance and tried J Restaurant… so glad we did. The patio atmosphere is awesome and quaint although huge. They have enclosed the space with sea to land containers and have blanketed it with open fire pits patio heaters and gazebos that have heat. On top of all of that the food was so yummy! We are looking forward to returning this winter they said they heat the floor and you can still eat outdoors! Can’t say enough about our experience. It right across the street from Hartford Children’s hospital. Not a great neighborhood but we felt very safe!
