Well, let me tell you about this place… Great menu, priced reasonably, food is fairly decent. I usually order a vegetable plate, at least that’s been my “go to” over my last 3 or 4 visits and it’s been very satisfying. The greens are seasoned very well, even with a few more stems than I’m used to but the flavor supersedes that. The black eyed peas make me want to order them by the pot!! The green beans are also well seasoned with plenty of white potatoes and onions. HOWEVER, recently they seemed to have switched up on who’s cooking the macaroni and cheese (a big deal in the culture). I ordered my usual and got home and opened my tray to this… Of course, I didn’t even attempt to eat that Mac… I still loved my other sides and even the cornbread (which is usually a little too “firm” for my tastes). Just a heads up folks, check your food before you leave to save you some time and anguish. And to J.W. Beverette, standard Mac and Cheese is what we’re looking for, all that extra stuff (velveeta, ricotta, pie crust, raisins, etc.) those other folks putting in the Mac and Cheese these days, let that stay over there with them… Please and Thank you…

I was doing my laundry during the third week of a 7 week tour around the eastern US with a marching drum corps based in New Hampshire when I stumbled upon this hole in the wall gem. The food was delicious and very fairly priced. However, the food was not the most memorable part of my visit. As a New England native who has never ventured far into the South, I can confidently say that the hospitality displayed by Ms. Teresa Jackson and the other workers was more wholesome and heart warming than anything I had ever experienced. Teresa pampered and took care of my friends and me (her “baby boys”) the same way my grandmother does. Despite our persistence, she would not accept our tips and even gave us a student discount on all of our orders. After enjoying my amazing meal, I took a picture with Teresa, saving a memory that I will never forget. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend you try out this place. The food is delectable, but the memories you will create are even more precious.

The service is warm and welcoming. Felt like I was right at home. The food was AMAZING. Definitely comfort food at its finest. I loved the green beans and new potatoes. My husband’s pork chops were the best I have ever seen in a restaurant. I will be looking for any excuse to return.

I ordered 3 wings and 3 sides. Plus I ordered a pork chop sandwich. It was my first time ordering from them, and I felt the prices were expensive. My bill for both was 25 dollars and change, plus the drink is NOT included! I thought the greens were too sweet, not enough smoked turkey flavor. I thought the dressing was also sweet, and should be more savory, the candied yams were clearly from the can, didn’t like the flavoring. The chicken was ok, but I think the oil was old! The customer service was nice, and the restaurant was clean! Unfortunately, I don’t think I will go back!

Absolutely wonderful! I had the smothered pork chops and fried okra. Everything was seasoned perfectly, fresh and hot! The hospitality was amazing!!! Something I rarely see now. Thank you for the great food and service to everyone working there! I wish I can post a picture but it was too good not to eat first. I’ll be back!
