Our new favorite place! The best steak we’ve ever had – and we eat a lot of steak! The food was so delicious. The only thing I’d change is homemade bread in the baskets instead of the dinner rolls….class it up a bit. Other than that everything was so over the top exceptional. Yes it’s pricey, but priced right for the quality. The atmosphere is beautiful and the wait staff attentive. I had to get a special note for my leftovers to claim them. So glad you’re here!

My new favorite steakhouse in Bozeman! Locally owned with a hard working & friendly team. Everything we tasted was delicious. The filet was perfection! I preferred mine with the red wine demi glacé & blue cheese crumbles, & my husband preferred his with the béarnaise. Both were very good! The mashed potatoes were fluffy, buttery perfection, and the creamed corn was full of flavor. Be sure to save room for dessert. If you want an Instagram moment, order the baked Alaska. If you want luscious deliciousness, order the butterscotch bourbon dessert – it’s a flavor bomb.

If you’re looking for an all-around stellar experience, JW Heist is a must. The interior design is beautiful and you can tell that a lot of hard work and creativity was put into this amazing dining experience. For drinks, we had the NY Sour and the Vesper. Both were delicious and the bartenders were very friendly. As we were seated, our server, Cedric, was terrific and guided us through any questions we had regarding the menu. I had the crab bisque as a starter and it was tasty. My wife ordered the sea bass and she is still raving about how great it was. I had a steak that was perfectly prepared medium rare and the sides were excellent accompaniments. We had a group of four of us and everyone enjoyed their dining experience from the hosts as we checked in, the bartenders, the sommelier helping with wine recs, and one of the co-owners even stopped by to welcome us. I highly recommend JW Heist and I highly recommend Cedric as a server. He was the man! Can’t wait to come back. Bozeman is lucky to have this stellar addition.

We ordered a steak and the scallops. The scallops were under cooked and the steak was over cooked. They didn’t even offer to remake the steak. It was so loud in the restaurant that we couldn’t hear each other while we were sitting right next to one another. I asked to turn down the music, and he said he would but it never got turned down. In all my travels I’ve never paid so much for food that I can definitely say it’s not worth it!!!

Wow! This place exceeded all expectation. The food was cooked to absolute perfection, the staff was the most attentive I’ve ever seen and the atmosphere was classy and rustic. If you’re looking for the most incredible and luxurious dining experience, try this place! Filet was the best my husband has ever had and the scallops are better than coastal restaurants. Great time all the way around!

Beautiful place with outstanding service, but the steaks were not good. NY Strip was so full of silver skin that I only could chewy about half of it. At this price point the meat should be a lot better. It took a long time for the main course to arrive and our med-rare were rare. The wine and sides were fine, and our server was very good. Maybe it was just an expectedly busy night and the kitchen got swamped.

Beautiful and comfortable atmosphere. In terms of the physical space, this is without a doubt one of the nicest restaurants in Bozeman. Unfortunately, the food is quite gross and there are better options for a high-end steak dinner in our area.

Food missed the mark just a bit for us for the prices. But service was great and so was the dark atmosphere. Also not sure why a restaurant catering to locals and tourists would not have any highchairs available. That was a let down as we had to hold a 10 month old on our lap while having a bottle of Caymus and $65 steaks. Didn’t lend itself to the wind down evening we we’re hoping to have.
