We sat on the patio it was a nice warm evening and was a perfect night to relax. We got the goat cheese mushrooms and they were cooked perfectly, I’ve never had goat cheese before so I can’t compare it but that was delicious too. Got the tomato basil soup for a side and that was delicious too. Then I got the linguine for dinner without artichoke and that was also cooked perfectly. Everything seems to come with a roll with is soft and fresh. The hibiscus lemonade is delicious

I took my son there for his birthday lunch. We were seated quickly. Nice atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. The menu clearly labels items GF (gluten-free) or GFA which can be made GF. They even had several GF desserts. Waitress was knowledgeable about celiacs. She noted to the kitchen and requested they change gloves without me asking. Steak tip salad, Salmon burger and creme Brulee were delicious. It was a little pricey but worth it to have a great meal and dining experience. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had a great dinner at J. Wilson’s on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived at about 5:15, so we were seated right away, but quickly started filling up in our section within 30 minutes or so. Started with Mushrooms and Goat Cheese and the Blackberry Feta Dip, and both were delicious! Moved on to salads, Caesar with ranch (my wife), and a House salad with radishes, dried cranberries, and a balsamic vinaigrette (me); both fresh, cold and delicious! Shared a bowl of the soup special, Dill Pickle Soup (restaurant week menu), and it was great. For mains, my wife had the Bolognese. Delicious but a little too salty for her. Kind of the nature of that dish, but maybe could have benefitted from some vinegar, lemon juice, honey or sugar. I didn’t even think to taste it because I was excited to get into my Fish Fry! So I had the “Fish Fry,” which is Icelandic Cod fried in a beer batter made with Johnny’s Blue Collar Lager from the local diamond, Free State Brewing Company. Love it when restaurants collaborate with other local businesses! The fish was great, batter shattered like glass and the meat perfectly done, piping hot. I just wish I had 2 pieces! Anyway, get out to J. Wilson’s and give ’em a try if you haven’t yet. Go early. We’ll be back soon to try a bunch of other stuff on the menu!

This was our first visit and I was truly impressed! The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting and everyone we interacted with was pleasant. The food was amazing, we tried the trout and the salmon. As a southern girl I appreciated how absolutely perfect the grits were. But the highlight of the evening is the sommelier Bruce Owens. He was very knowledgeable and genuinely considerate and sweet. He made it a most memorable experience and truly a delight to dine there.

Had a great experience here hosting a dinner for my employees. Communication with Matt for the reservation was prompt, our waiter Craig was attentive and matched energy with our group well, food was delicious. Will definitely return.

I keep wanting to like this restaurant but, every time feel let down. This weekend we sat on the patio for brunch. The restaurant was not very busy and we were seated immediately. A waiter took our drink order and let us know that our waitress was busy but would be out soon. Once she took our food order we did not see anyone or receive our food or drinks for 45+ minutes. We had ordered omelet, eggs and French toast plus mimosas. I finally popped by head back into the restaurant to see what was up. After chatting with a different waitress our drinks and food all arrived quickly with lots of apologies. I think they forgot about us! The customer service was great and I appreciate that but this was not the first time that I’ve had a poor experience here. The food was good but over shadowed by the long wait.

You can spend more on a steak, in town, but you won’t find a better one. Prime beef, well seasoned, and most importantly, all of their chefs know how to cook a steak MEDIUM RARE. Sides are always tasty, and the service is very good. I’m a transplanted Texan, I know my steaks. J. Wilson’s is the best in town.

I had once their food it was good. Came to my birthday dinner. Service is good. But food needs some improvement. Appetizer we ordered blackberry cheese dipping. Extremely salty. Wonder if chef had tasted the food prior serving. Entree could be better to be paired with the balanced colorful veggie. It will be best if they have kids menu.

We loved how quiet this place was. It was nice to be able to go to a nice, quiet, romantic dinner so close to our house. Our food and service was amazing. We look forward to eating here often.
