Jack O’Neil’s Restaurant and Lounge at the Dream Inn Hotel. This spot has great views and is right on the beach. You have full ocean views while in the dining room.

Beautiful views from this restaurant and great food. My only complaint is that the portions could’ve been bigger for the price. I got the banana French toast and my husband got the huevos rancheros. Both were delicious. My coffee was just okay.

Food was good quality; poke dish was excellent. Cool ‘palm springs’ 60’s vibe. Our waitress was very attentive to our requests. Great view & a fun place to celebrate a birthday!

Allison took great care of us today. Recommend the fish taco’s & they were awesome. Great views food & staff. Manager helped get all 10 of us seating.

Great Views, food is good, but for the price I expect better. Ricotta lemon pancakes were a little more rubberish than they should be. Service was just okay, I was there very early and the place was not that busy. I would have liked more hot tea with my entree and was only asked/given more water.

We went here as a group of 4 and they accommodated us even it was right before the kitchen closed. The service was great and highly communicative. It’s more on the pricey side but it’s top tier-full service. Every employee was absolutely well-trained and our assigned server just emanated of warmth and expertise. Typically when at closing time, you can see service wavers but this was not the case for this restaurant. It was truly a memorable experience. Unfortunately, I couldn’t remember who the gentleman was but this is a high recommended restaurant for anyone who visits Santa Cruz.

Dining room has an excellent view of the wharf and Cowell Beach. Food is generally very good but there are exceptions. Service is good unless they get real busy. Cocktails and wine selection are excellent. Prices, however, are very high for most items, among the most expensive in town. At our most recent visit in late March 2023 I had a disappointing Crispy Chicken sandwich for $21. Chicken was stringy and fries were substandard. Bun was excellent though. Side salad was excellent. My wife’s ahi poke was very good for $23. My “specialty” martini was ok for $16. My wife’s Morgan Sauvignon Blanc was very reasonably priced at $10/glass.

I went to Jack O’Neill for dinner. The food was amazing, one of the best in Santa Cruz. The lounge is much cheaper than the restaurant, and a great place for a small munch. Definitely a should go.

Absolutely delicious food! Everything was so flavorful and the view of the ocean makes for a serene experience. The portion sizes for the kids meals were big and my little ones ate happily, they even loved the veggies! I highly recommend this restaurant, I myself will be back for many more yummy experiences!

We had the most wonderful server named Lo! She was the highlight of our time at JO’s. The food was sub-par for the price, but the service made it worth it. Lo was attentive, kind, and made us feel like we were the only guests in the establishment. We ordered the halibut (overcooked), ceaser salad, and cheese and meat board. As well as some drinks and dessert. All good food, but nothing had the wow factor for us. Again, we want to highlight how amazing our server was and what a pleasant evening we had!
