The stew chicken wasn’t chopped up as should and any Jamaican know that and the rice and peas was orange (the rice should have a pink color from cooking with the pickney beans). It looked like Spanish rice with little to no peas.

First time at Jackie’s and it was AMAZING! One of the best Jamaican restaurants in CT. The customer service was a perfect example of what ALL restaurants should demonstrate. The food was hot and fresh, also done in a timely manner. The prices were also affordable. I would highly recommend them for anyone who’s looking for some great food with even better customer service.

Was looking for West Indian food in new Britain and came across this restaurant. The young lady who took my call wow very sweet and pleasant. Now to the food very tasty. I have eaten at other restaurants in Hartford thank god I found this place. Will be sharing with my friends and family. Awesome service. Great tasting food. This was my first time eating at Jackie’s and the food was absolutely delicious! Food was at a great temp and very flavorful. I had the curry goat with a beef patty, spicy but delicious!! Definitely will come again!

Was in the mood for some Jamaican food so my husband and I googled Jamaican restaurants in New Britain and Jackie’s came up and I am so glad it did. We ordered Curry goat and Stew chicken. We were very pleased with the food and the service was excellent very friendly. We will definitely go again…

Delicious …. I have been in the for 2 weeks and I just wanted some good food. I’d never been to this place but it was pretty close to UConn Health Center and they had aKee & salt fish which is a breakfast dish(hard to find). So I called to make sure they still had it because it was after 2pm. When I spoke to the woman & told her what I’d been through she assured me that the food would be to my liking and boy was it and I’m very picky, especially when it comes to restaurants. Jackie’s Gourmet was fresh, still hot and it taste as if it was cooked especially for me rather than a giant pot of food made for a bunch of people like some places I experienced. Thank you, I’m definitely a new customer and will return when I’m discharged

I think this food is great! The service is friendly! Nice and clean as well! Real authentic Jamaican food. Just because they do not speak patwa 24-7 doesn’t mean they aren’t real Jamaicans lol the owner was born and raised in Jamaica just an FYI. Also, If you want seafood you just have to call ahead before heading to the restaurant. Great job! Don’t let any negativity stop you guys!

Absolutely delicious! It was my first visit tonight and the beef patty was the best beef patty I have ever had! Always great portion sizes, but the food is excellent! Would definitely come here again!!!
