Usually a great experience but today was just short. My wife’s steak salad was just as usual but with much more fat on the steak and my Cali cheese steak sandwich had two large chunks of unchewable gristle in it, needless to say a disappointment. They have a good menu and items you can’t get just anywhere but today not up to par.

Impossible taco salad…really good! Really tasty! But, the avocado had lots of black/rotten areas and the Impossible ‘meat’ was one big chunk. I also had ‘urban fries’, they were okay, but not nearly as flavorful as the salad. This was more fun when you could watch your salad being made…but honestly, the salads are better when you just choose one of theirs off the menu. Salad 4.5 stars, fries 3.5. But…super expensive! My meal was $24!

Seriously, I picked this place to pick up lunch and for their fries. Fries were good but I also got a bbq tri tip sandwich and top piece of the bread is still cold and cheese didn’t even bothered to be melt a bit! What type of a restaurant do not check if they warmed up the sandwich bread enough?! So disappointed! I will get fries from Mc.Donald’s if I need to.

The food is okay but the workers are truly depressing very rarely if at all do they say “Hello, How are you doing?” No greeting. None of them smile or even try to indulge you. But they expect a tip. They won’t even smile and say “Have a nice day” simple customer service does not exist in this establishment. I could understand being shy but deliberately not smiling on a multitude of occasions is depressing and the world is already depressing enough. A woman who wears a foward hat and pony tail always has this angry/hostile look on her face. No matter what day it is.

The meat at this restaurant is amazing, especially the tri tip, which is sliced fresh to order in front of you. It comes out a little cold though. It’s a little pricey for the quantity of food you get, I always left feeling a little hungry still. Best restaurant in Davis for tri tip.
