Me and my boyfriend went here to get food, we love soul food. The service was awesome, very friendly and warm people, they are the type of owners that care about their customers. The food was delicious, we got a dinner and also tried the fish and chips; the chicken was delicious and the size were huge ( see picture) !!! , the fries well seasoned and crispy and let me tell you about their sides, probably the best coleslaw and best Mac n cheese I had so far in a long time. They have half and half (tea and lemonade) that everyone should try!!!! Everything was good, service and food. Definitely coming back!!!

Great soul food! All cooked from scratch, not salty, just all herbs & sauces with powerful flavors! The scallops were amazing & fried chicken was so good!! We tried all the sides, and it was just delicious !! We met Robert & Simone…the chefs!! Wonderful people & thank you for your hospitality while our food was being cooked.

Lemme tell y’all something and I’ll keep it real for y’all…go head and drive or walk on over there to this spot. The food was bangin. Rob and Simone (the owners and chefs) were very nice and helpful with my order. I ate the slab of ribs, Mac n cheese, yams and some collards and it was all good. That Mac n cheese is delicious, i’m lactose intolerant but I would eat that every time I go there for sure. I also drank uptown with my meal which was really classic but good as well. I also got this truffle cheesecake dessert they had that day and ohh my god lord please make sure go get this if they have it when you’re there. It really is game changing and I’m being Forreal.

I found a new home for Soul Food the food was so delicious we had whiting. They also let us sample the home made delicious cake food it was the first and I am so happy it is only 10 minutes from home but if they were an hour I would go because everything was delicious . If 10 stars were available this establishment will have it! First, let me tell you that Simone and Rob can cook their A%#!s off. My husband flew me up for Mother’s Day this weekend from North Carolina, because he left the Sunday on Mother’s day. I wanted some good food with vetagables. As we pulled up to Jackson & Goodwin Soul food we notice how clean the outside was and the inside was just as clean. We were greeted by Justine with a big smile on her face and here comes Rob the owner/ cook and let’s not forget the sassy auntie owner Simone/cook. Now for the food it was good, hot, and delicious! Auntie Simone gave us samples of a lot delicious foods, and baby it was ALL GOOD. If anyone is wondering NO they are not my family,lol, But they make you feel like you at Big Mama house having dinner!!. Greg and I thank you for your hospitality and delicious food. Greg will see you in two weeks Auntie, lol. Oh, and we drove 35 minutes from our hotel. We are glad we did. If you looking for good food and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THIS PLACE WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. ITS TAKE OUT ONLY BUT WE ATE IN OUR CAR! WE COULDN’T WAIT TO EAT.
