I recently tried Jake’s with friends. It is awesome! As a vegetarian, steak places are not my first choice. However, Jake’s menu touts a few vegetarian choices and says they have other options not on the menu. I chose the Cajun pasta dish from the menu. My dining companions chose lamb chops, steaks, the chicken piccata special, and some appetizers. All of us were delighted with our selections. Our server was helpful when I asked what she suggested for a vegetarian. We were also impressed that the owner came to our table to let us know that our order might be delayed due to two other large parties who ordered before we did. We appreciated the heads-up, but it wasn’t necessary because our food arrived without any discernible delay. I also had the Ojibway Island Tea (their take on a Long Island). It was delicious! I was impressed by Jake’s. I look forward to trying them again.

Great filet and NY strip! Try both blackened with the blue cheese topping. Also, the shrimp cocktail (and homemade sauce) was to die for. The atmosphere is very reminiscent of a traditional Chicago chop house and we loved it! Connie, our server, was super helpful and wonderful to chat with. We’re not from the area, but we’ll be back the next time we’re in Saginaw.

My wife and I had dinner with another couple. The food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed there meal, we had the steak bite appetizer they melted in our mouths. My friend ordered the pork chops they were so tender the meat fell off the bone. We also ordered desert and that was fantastic. I will definitely be going back. Remember also this is a high end place. If want to impress your date or our wife this is the place. Very cool atmosphere.

This was my first time here. We took a tour of the inside since we had never been there before; lots of great history on the walls. We ate outside because the weather was perfect for a change. The Bloody Marys are excellent, as are the burgers. My burger was cooked absolutely perfectly, medium rare! Most restaurants overcook burgers. This one was wonderful. Our waiter, Jake, was very friendly and attentive. There’s quite a bit of traffic noise when you sit outside. It’s too bad they can’t have a patio back by the river so you can watch boat traffic instead of vehicle traffic. All in all, great experience!!!

We were in town visiting family and we went to Jake’s for dinner. It was absolutely delicious. Our server Ben was outstanding! We had such a great experience. Jake came by and checked on us several times during our visit. We are big beer drinkers. Jake had an awesome selection of beer. Overall I can’t say enough about our experience. It was simply wonderful. Highly recommend checking Jake’s out if your in town visiting or a local.
