Jamaican Yard Vibes is a Black owned business serving Caribbean Cuisine based in Owensboro, Ky. We decided to start selling small plates of Jerk and Curry Chicken with traditional Jamaican sides so we could fund our wedding in the summer of 2019. On our wedding day we severed a wider range of dishes like Oxtails and even Red Snapper. With so many great responses from everyone, we decided to start cooking for local friends and family members when able. Once we seen how many people actually enjoyed our food . We took a leap of faith and created our official business the summer of 2020. We found our first home October of 2021 and on February 25th, 2022 we Officially Opened!!

When Jamaican Yard Vibes fixes you a plate, they really fix you a PLATE! They gave us enough for two meals. Ox tail meat falling off the bone, well spiced. Red beans and rice, plantains and yams were good too. She wasn’t kidding when she said the coco bread was hot. Festivals cinnamon bread went well with a peanut Irish Moss to drink. My father enjoyed the jerk pork too. The selection of Jamaican drinks is exciting and the food is all very good.

I wanted to try something different tonight and decided to give this place a try. I had the jerk chicken with rice and beans, mac and cheese, and oxtail. Everything was delicious, no complaints. The chicken was the best I’ve had in a long time, great flavor. The prices are good considering how large the portions are. Highly recommend to give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Some of the best food to be found in Owensboro! I’ve been working my way through the menu when I go and I’ve yet to find something I don’t like. The jerk pork, mac and cheese and red beans and rice are all reliable favorites! Just tried the chicken/beef patties today, which prompt me to write this – They’re absolutely amazing! Delicious and kind of like little hand held pies!

My husband and I ate there for the first time last night and it was delicious! I had the jerk chicken, red beans and rice and cabbage! It was all so good! It’s take out right now but hopefully they will have a place with seating soon!

I’ve been dying to try this place. My wife suggested it for our anniversary. She did it for me even though she isn’t a fan of that style of food. I got jerk chicken and she got the goat. We both absolutely loved the food. Great food. The plantains were a first for us as well. They were delicious.
