I got to Jambo Grill at 2:45 PM and checked it out, a little nervous for yet another crummy zoo meal. However, I was pleasantly surprised. At the Jambo Grill, a bunch of standard meals were pre-made, meaning that I asked for a cheeseburger and fries, and was immediately handed some. I also asked for a fountain drink and got one, deciding on iced tea. There were no straws or lids, either because they were out of them or didn’t think they were environmentally friendly, but that suited me because I actually got exactly enough drink so I wasn’t either left thirsty or needed to feel guilty about wasting some of it. As for the food, it was good. The cheeseburger wasn’t perfect, but was tasty and cooked well, not burnt or under-cooked. The French fries were not piping hot, but they were warm and had the right amount of salt. There were paper cups for condiments, and I got two ketchup, one honey mustard, and a barbecue sauce, and used all three types for a variety in my fries.

The food was very good and hot. We got chicken tenders and fries. They were fresh and hot. The staff were nice, but it was a wait to get the food. I prefer waiting if the food tastes like this.

The food is good but overpriced. The girls at the counter should receive customer service training. The cashier barely took her eyes off her phone and got annoyed when I asked for sugar for my $4.74 dollars small cup of black coffee. Try to eat somewhere else.

This is the WORST place to go for food. I waited nearly 40 minutes in line just to get my food checked out. Also, everything is extremely pricey. A hamburger and fries is 11$ and water is 6$. Note that theres a vending machine next to the grill that sells the same water and energy drinks for 1$. The food was not appetizing too and was sitting on a grill (not even fresh).

Not bad considering you have limited options to eat at the zoo . The chicken was dry but the roast beef was ok. Fries are nice. The best part is the view of the giraffes and zebras while you eat. Prices aren’t bad, bottled water is overpriced.

Burger and fries were awesome. Had a great view of the giraffe while eating. Tables were quickly cleaned off and even tho it looked hectic we received our food fast. Kid enjoyed her chicken and fries and sister enjoyed hers as well.

Prices were a little high, but expected. Food was good and did the trick! This is a solid place to grab a bite at the Pittsburgh Zoo

We ate here during the Asian lantern festival (which was really cool). So the burgers are incredibly salty. The BBQ burger was so salty it was inedible. My daughter got it (she loves BBQ burger son general) and asked to trade. I could not eat it. The chicken Yakitori was cold and tasted off. Now for what you should get: pizza was good, fries are crispy and not too salty, garden salad was perfectly fine, and the spring rolls we thought were quite good. Service was good. 2 stars be because the burgers were unimaginably bad, like I don’t even understand how they are possibly this salty, and the Yakitori seriously tasted spoiled.

Surprised by the negative reviews. This was exactly what I was inspecting, if not better.

Was given free water in a paper water cup then asked to refill my souvinere cup with water they filled it then charged me $4 for any type of refill then after they charged me they told me if I had my own cup they would fill that cup I brought with water for free!? What a terrible refill policy.
