Kind of amazed that we live one city over and never heard of this place. Took the family for a special night out and pleasantly surprised. Private space and excellent service complimented really outstanding food and drinks. I don’t go out of my way to provide positive reviews very often but love to support locally owned establishments that have something unique to provide. Only suggestion is to update the menu on the website. Bon Appetite!

Great food and dessert in a comfortable old house with a fine patio! You may have driven past without noticing this unassuming house, but it’s so well worth stopping in. Fine attentive service but without being rushed. Excellent onion soup and calamari appetizers, great thick pork chops with fantastic potato pancakes, and seared angelfood cake for dessert. Dinner for four with drinks and dessert ran $220, not cheap but well worth the price!

Wonderful experience at James Place this evening! The food is artisan, something you would not expect at first sight. The Walleye with rice pilaf and a touch of vegetables was amazing! Friends had the chicken pot pie, which is a hearty meal and the steak with onion strips that looked absolutely mouth watering. After our meal, the chef came out personally and asked how things went. He explained how the fish is procured and little tidbits on food prep. James Place is smaller with a casual atmosphere, the food and service were excellent!

Have been here several times and its always consistent…. awesome food, great wine selection, fantastic service (ask for Brandon!!), and such a cozy quaint atmosphere. The patio in summer is beautiful. Perfect place for a date night. I Love James Place!
