I had chosen Jani over the Chinese restaurant across the street because of fond memories with family and good food back in the early 2000’s. The atmosphere can be a bit noise but the walls lined with unique authentic tea pots and horseshoe booths are very nice and rare these days.

For the longest time I refused to come here because my last time I was with my in-laws and my kids were 7,4,1, it was an awful experience. I blamed poor Jani. Well I’m here to tell everybody that Jani is a very good restaurant, the decor is beautiful, the service was attentive and quick and above all the food was delicious. The early bird special is the best deal around. Please forgive me Jani, I will be back.

What a wonderful restaurant!! The food was amazing. The restaurant was decorated with the owner’s tea pot collection. It reflects the owner’s personal interest in everything about the restaurant, from the menu, the service, the tea served. Really amazing.

Wonton soup was delicious, dumplings were perfect consistency, beef with snow peas was super delicious and the shrimp with lobster sauce was amazingly good, fried rice was not overly dressed, so not salty. Lunch/ dinner was reasonably priced considering that lunch the other day at a bagel place cost us $32.00, todays meal was $40 and we have enough leftover for tomorrow. Needless to say, we’re coming back pictures to follow

Food was mediocre at best and the service was AWFUL. 25 minutes seated before our order was taken. The waitress stopped at the table twice, we were an inconvenience. She didn’t bring the rice that came with the food, she didn’t bring the soup and salad that came with one of the meals. Awful
