I ran across this little place while on a motorcycle ride in Cajun country. I had a great local lunch there, crawfish, red beans and rice. Also had the fried bacon wrapped oysters, everything was fresh and great tasting. Had a nice conversation with the staff and met the owner outside, told her what a wonderful place she had and she was so happy she stopped to have a conversation with me also. I love the folks down here.

I stopped for lunch whilst down there working. Ordered the large shrimp plate ($13.50) and a Diet Coke ($1.50). It was good. Nothing unique…thirteen shrimp and ample fries. Next time down there I’ll give Voleo’s and Boutee’s a shot so I can compare the three.

So, I hate to give 3 stars, but it is the average of some 5 star items and 1 star items = I think it matters what you order. The sautéed shrimp meal was out of this world, the shrimp po-boy was delish, but the crab po-boy was utterly disgusting. It was light on crab and heavy on a dark- colored mush that was neither appealing to look at or taste. My 12 yr old LOVES crab cakes and orders them everywhere he can…he didn’t eat but two bites. I tried it, too, and it was the worst attempt at a crab cake I’ve ever tried.

Jan has a menu for every appetite! Food here is very delicious! It’s what we call down the Bayou! The price is good hey the food is absolutely to die for! So treat yourself well. We had seafood platter today and it was very good! It has shrimp stuffed crab oyster and stuffed shrimp with fries! Great deal for the money! The gumbo was also delicious! Today I had chicken sausage gumbo. It was some of the best, that I have tasted! You won’t be disappointed
