This locally family owned restaurant has changed a thing in years and that is perfection. The Hostesses are sociable, friendly and great multitaskers. The servers are well seasoned and have worked for this business for a long time which shows in their ability to please and serve all patrons whether they are regulars or new customers. The food is always fresh,hot, delicious and plentiful. You are not leaving hungry or upset. The price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served to you. Delicious is my one word for Jan’s. Thank you to this business for always being so homie and welcoming. Keep it up and please don’t change a thing.

Driving up to Jan’s we thought we were in the wrong place but we saw people walking in so we went in as well. The best decision ever. After being greeted they layer out what we could only call a typical Southern table. We got hush puppies, cold slaw, green tomato relish, an onion slice, lemon slices, bean soup and tartar sauce. All were delicious. For our meals we ordered the 16oz marinaded ribeye steak and a baked potato and the grilled catfish and fries. So much food and so good. Even had enough for dinner the next night. Such amazingly great food!! We also appreciated the great service we received from the staff.

Let’s start by saying your hosts and servers are great. But your establishment is in some major need of updating and upgrading. The waiting area near the front door is HOT, I cannot imagine just how hot it gets in there when it get REALLY HOT in the summer. Everything is outdated from the carpet, to the tables, chairs, walls, decors, and restrooms. The restrooms seemed mostly clean but one door doesn’t even lock and it is dark in there. My waitress Chevy was perfect and I would go back to request her again. I can definitely get a cheaper baked chicken somewhere else but the bean soup is pretty tasty. There used to be a bigger menu than you currently have and you do not have a lot of healthy choices. I would love a choice of a side salad.

Glad we finally decided to try out Jan’s. We have been by and they always seem covered up. We tried them out last night and found out why. The first clue was all the folks leaving with go boxes and orders to go we saw when we arrived. The catfish was awesome and the sides were too. Tomato relish, cole slaw, hush puppies and fries rounded out the meal. If you leave hungry, it’s your fault. I should have ordered a smaller meal, but it was oh, so good! Give them a try. We’ll be back.

We were the first through the door at opening and being seated but others around us were served first. Seems to have been because they are usuals… this was quite disappointing. The food however was very good. Whole catfish was served hot and fried just right.

Odd building, inside was sparsely decorated and in dire need of an update. Was not met by a hostess, had to flag someone down to be seated. Paper menu was dirty, table was sticky, creepy/ weird atmosphere, we left before ordering anything. Food may be the best in the world but I’ll never know.

The corn nuggets were the best part of the meal. The steak marinade was way too salty. There was way too much batter on the shrimp. The fish was ok, but just ok. The salad was obviously made in the morning and sat in ice all day (awful). The margarita was so bad that we couldn’t drink it. And the whole experience was way too expensive for what it was. A few beans and a little fried cornbread don’t make a $15 meal worth twice that much !!
