Irving location of Japan House. AYCE, plenty of selection from your traditional rolls and nigiri to hibachi entrees and fried noodles. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive, suggested items, and was very knowledgeable about the food and restaurant itself. Food came out quick, temperature was correct for each dish, and portions are smaller so you can order a variety of things without getting full.

It’s a beautiful restaurant, to be expected since it’s only five days old. The service was exemplary, in fact, he came by too often. It’s “all you can eat” not a “Buffet”. You order off the menu, and of course, the portions are smaller because you can have as many as you want. However, the quality of the food is just not there. I guess my expectations were too high as I go to a fair number of upscale, Asian restaurants. Truthfully, I would’ve rather have paid more For better quality food.. I’ll go so far to say that it’s pretty expensive for the quality of the food. I ordered a “crab stick“ nigiri, and it was most definitely imitation. Unless you’re very well-versed in the different kinds of sushi etc, you’re kind of ordering blind. Also, the wasabi was not hot at all. I doubt I will eat here again.

Not a buffet! It’s an all you can eat! By ordering from ale cart. But there’s a limit, it seems 5 dishes per person ? I guess a hidden rule . Food portions are good for one. Food quality is good. Sashimi, nagiri, ongiri, and more. Must try is killer tuna roll, ahi tower, Japanese short rib, smoked salmon, and combo ramen . Don’t forget to get Sake! The cold lychee flavored is a hit. And hot sake never fails! Definitely a recommendation, and will come back to try more dishes.

This is an all-you-can-eat establishment. You can order 5 things at a time and the portions are small enough that you can do that. The food is well presented in each of their own dish which is better than a buffet where you pile everything onto one plate. The taste of most of the food was terrible. I ordered Ramen and it tasted like feet. The short ribs did not taste like beef and were absolutely disgusting. Some of the other dishes were okay. They gave me a teriyaki bowl with like 2 tablespoons of rice and a cup of onions. I couldn’t believe how they could mess that up. Not sure if I’d visit again just because of the food. The price was pretty ridiculous for the all-you-can-eat option.

Exceeded my expectations especially considering we went for lunch buffet. Over 150 items were available and we tried about 20 different ones including 8 appetizers / salads / soups. Favorites were: ahi tower, crunchy salad (cucumber / seaweed / shredded crab), chicken karaage, chicken katsu, sunrise roll (yellowtail cucumber inside, tuna yuzu and caviar topping), king J roll. Non favorite was takoyaki (well cooked but too much batter / too little octopus). Pretty certain we’ll be back. Our server Elijah was extremely attentive and quick to help when we needed it.

We just tried Japan House for dinner and had a great experience! The food was delicious, sashimi and sushi was fresh, there was great variety, the service was very fast and the inside was spacious but intimate. The mahi tower was one of our favorites, along with the hand rolls, hibachi, short ribs and the Takoyaki (a type of Japanese street-food snack). There are some special rolls and options on the dinner menu, which justifies the higher price.
