This was my first time trying Japhy’s in Arcata. I’m not a huge fan eating just soup for lunch but I thought I could go for a soup and salad type of meal. I got clam chowder which I thought was pretty mediocre. It felt like the soup was crowded with potato’s and chives. I would stick to getting clam chowder at a seafood restaurant. The salad cost $5.50 and it was just lettuce, a few carrots, and a lot of ranch. A side salad for that price should have at least a couple of other vegetables in it. I wasn’t impressed by this place but people seem to enjoy it. It was not my cup of tea… or should I say it was not my cup of soup.

Delicious! We stopped for lunch. Our crew had noodles, clam chowder, and thai chicken curry with some chocolate chip cookies. Everything was a hit. The clam chowder tasted like Christmas in a bowl.

Well holy moly me oh my, this place is DELICIOUS. I got the hot soup, with ramen noodles, miso, the baked pork (SO FLAVORFUL) and veggies, and I’m not ashamed to say it, but I did not take a single breath in between bites. This ramen was SO GOOD, I’d come all the way from Phoenix Arizona to cali JUST for this ramen. The people were nice, the restaurant is very clean and well decorated. I enjoyed my stay so so much. I got the green curry as well (for a late night feast) and if the quality is anything like the noodles, I’m ready to fall in love with this Curry as well.

We were in town for 3 days and went here twice. So many options on the menu I asked the person at the register to suggest something. He said he ate the Thai Style Chicken for the first 2 years he worked there… SOLD! Over brown rice – one of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten. My son said the same thing.
