Visiting Galveston/Texas City and was on the search for black owned eateries for lunch. My mouth was watering from the pictures and reviews so we had to go find this place. Unfortunately, they were closed and I did not get to try them out. We will be back this way at some point and can’t wait to experience this eatery.

Some of the best wings and waffles around! Stopped by after work and was very happy with the food and service received. Takes a while, but it’s a tiny family run kitchen and the food is worth the wait. Will return next time I’m in the area! The Lakeil wings are amazing and so are the waffles!

This place NEVER disappoints! The chicken is ALWAYS HOT, FRESH and TASTY. The sides are limited and the price-point is a bit high but worth it for the CONSISTENCY! The Service and Quality is unchanged from Day 1 and that speaks volumes. Great job Elisa and Jacquay!

This was my second time eating here, the first time was during COVID and I believe they were just opening. My nephew really enjoyed the chicken and waffles on that visit(he didn’t want to share)!!! The second visit I dined in, not a very big place, but perfect for a solo lunch. The owner and the woman taking my order were very friendly and I felt welcomed, like I was at home watching TV and eating lunch! The wings were AMAZING! I enjoyed the lemon pepper, I will definitely have to try the other flavors. The meat was falling off of the bone and not an over powering lemon pepper flavor. Cooked perfectly! The house-made tea is VERY addicting!! I was expecting a regular sweet tea but I was pleasantly surprised it was a flavored tea, peach maybe? I tasted other flavors but couldn’t put my finger on it. A perfect addition to my meal! Really enjoyed my visit and meal here. If you’re in a hurry order ahead, I don’t mind waiting for hot,fresh food! I actually prefer knowing my meal will be hot and fresh but I know not everyone feels the same. Will definitely be back, ready to try more flavors!!

I wish I could give 10 stars!!!!!!! Our first trip to Dickinson and we found Jaquays on google. HANDS DOWN the best chicken and waffles we’ve ever had. PLUS amazing customer service. We will be making another order before we head home at the end of our trip.

Food, staff and atmosphere were amazing. Stopped in for lunch while in the area one day. We got the 15 wings, dirty rice and fries. Wings were seasoned to perfection and steaming hot and fresh. Definitely will come again next time I’m in the area!!!
