I have to say I was kind of disappointed with the beef. Recently. It’s not as good as I remember it. Also they do NOT give additional beef juice unless you ask for it. I Tire of having to ask every time and recently I almost didn’t want to because they were busy with like 6 other people. Profits over customer satisfaction right. Also they didn’t give a lot of fries

Excellent beef, nice size and really tasty. Hot pepper mix of fresh jalapeño and celery adds a nice crunch and light heat. Fast service. Miss the old North Ave. location, but will be back here ASAP.

Without a doubt the best beef in Chicago, especially for the price. Never miss coming here when I’m in town, and as usual they did not disappoint. This past visit they actually forgot my onion rings and didn’t charge me for them, but the fries were an 11 out of 10 (best I’ve ever had here, or pretty much anywhere), so I can’t even complain. Sure, it’s much easier to hit Portillo’s and get a smaller portion of less flavorful beef for more money, but that would be stupid. And Dino’s Italian beef has transformed into shoe leather, so please, come to Jay’s!

This place is the best and so are the people. It’s by far the best beef I have found since moving to the North/NW side. In one of my first visits, an employee did a very nice favor. Now a second time, a worker offered to do another favor while I was delivering to them. Class act! I have been wanting to try their other items, but the beef is so good I haven’t been able to bring myself to order anything else.

The food is excellent. The staff is pretty much friendly except for one of the younger annoying loud mouthed sons. I ordered two hot dogs with specific ingredients on each of them and he turns around and muttered “that sounds so confusing”. Really?? Maybe you should rethink to an easier career if serving hot dogs is to difficult for you!

This is the best beef in Chicago. I was recently told Johnnies is better so I did a comparison and it’s not close. Jay’s is better all around, not that other beefs are bad, but they don’t compare to Jay’s.
