Will never get food from this place again. Hot dogs were okay. But the gyros and chili cheese fries were so nasty.

The gyro was down the middle, not bad, but not great! A solid staple of a gyro. The price was good; very reasonable. This is a take out place, the atmosphere is not really conducive to sitting in. It’s like an old dilapidated diner.

They changed the chili sauce. Buns were hard. My husband got sick after eating them. I don’t eat them but he always loved Jay’s. No more. Will cook at home

The workers are very good in trying to get your food freshly cooked as you order. That was great. I tried the famous hot dogs and they were average. I also had a cheeseburger. It was better than the hot dog but not bad at all. I also had a gyro. There was plenty of meat which I was surprised. But everything with it did not compliment the meat. I pulled the meat off and ate it by itself. Everything was average. Great hard working crew.

It was a lot better under the family who started it. Now that it’s under new management, it’s gone downhill. The hotdogs are no longer bunsize, the chili is awful, and the tzatiki sauce is horrible. The other day when I was in there apparently the gyro meat wasn’t cooked thoroughly, so the woman who was cutting the meat told an employee to put it on the grill and when I got home the meat had dark spot that was like rubber and tasted terrible. I will never go back there again. That is all.

100 years of Hot Dog Goodness. Jays HotDogs / Jay’s Famous Hot Dogs in Boardman. I wasn’t too ambitious just two chili dogs with Onions no sides. Over the years this is probably my eighth visit. Solid, consistent hot dog with great homemade chili sauce. No-frills. Cash only. What you see is what you get.

One of the best Gyros (say Yeer-ro) you can get in the local area. Especially since they’re a white owned establishment and not ‘really’ greek. Actually better than the local grewk places but they are chain resturants. The lemon chicken soup leaves something to be desired and I’m not a fan of their Youngstown version of a Coney (we have a totally different version of this where I’m from) but everything else is good, especially the home cut fries and worth the trip.

Jays use to be the best place for gyros and chili dogs. Went there today and times have changed, the gyro meat was tasteless. The chili sauce was basically just grease with a small amount of meat. It’s just a shame that this place went down hill so bad. Frank would b so sad what had become of jays
