I had breakfast at Jefferson Soda Fountain on a recent Friday morning. Got there around 9 am and the tables were nearly all taken. I had the Breakfast Special (eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy) and coffee. The food was straightforward, nothing fancy, but it looked good and tasted even better. Despite the place being very busy, it wasn’t too loud. The waitress was attentive and I tipped her accordingly.

This is one of those institutions of the neighborhood. Servers were very friendly and food was ok. But it took 40 minutes to get our food. With no explanation until the food arrived. “Big to-go order and a large party in the back room.” Which we could not see from our table. Gravy was thin and so were the grits. Food was only warm. We will be back but it will take another few years or so.

This was a special birthday breakfast and our 1st time eating at this Diner. The portions were big, the food was delicious and the service was exceptional! We will be back when we are in thar area and hopefully try their burgers and milkshakes!

Some elements of the meal were ok. Mostly no, though. We had to sit at a table that was 2 tables kinda put together. It was surrounded by pure chair chaos that we were climbing and tripping over to sit down.

Really enjoyed my homemade potato soup and grilled cheese! The coconut cream pie was also amazing! Very nice folks in there too!! I eat there whenever I go to Oak Ridge! If you haven’t eaten there, you should definitely give it a try!!

Really horrible. 50 minute ticket time, cold food, wrong food, and no one ever asked us a thing about the uneaten food left at our table. Avoid at all cost. On the upside, the partially painted wall was somewhat entertaining. For the first half hour.

This place has been around a very long time, and it totally looks that way. Don’t let this deter you. I had one of the best blt sandwiches I’ve ever eaten here. I LOVED the chocolate milkshake, it’s delicious! The onion rings are really tasty also. There’s nothing really spectacular about the menu offerings, but the food is good and the service is friendly and prompt. The bathrooms are old and could use a bit of cleaning. If I am in town I’d definitely stop and grab a shake as a special treat, because I’ve kinda been dreaming about it. This said, I’m not sure this would be a destination eating place….it might be a one and done.
