Holy S#!*, I’ve always loved Jersey ever since the one that was around in downtown EL by the old Jacobson’s store, in the 80’s, but I had total sticker shock when I walked in recently. $$17 bucks and change for their full signature #8 sub and a drink. Add a buck for a tip…I could have eaten at a full service steak joint for close to that. I’ll always support this local icon, but it’s only going to have to be on those “the only thing that sounds good is a Jersey sub” kind of days.

Let’s start with the good, decently good subs. Good quantity and quality in the ingredients used. Now for the not so good; stickler about masks and spacing although the way the restaurant is set up they have customers walking through the line to get out of the restaurant once their order is completed. Wouldn’t be that way but they have tables stacked against the counter. Also the way they handle spacing people out was quite rude, if I’m in a group walk in as a group it should be obvious I am comfortable standing close to them, I’m not close to you or other customers leave me be. For over the phone orders good luck figuring out what is yours. Labeling was poor and multiple orders were wrong.

Just as amazing as the other locations. Huge subs friendly staff great experience. Fresh ingredients, never stale bread and they slice the meat and cheese in front of you. I would recommend and definitely will be back.

Always good sandwiches but I was in Okemos and tried to call ahead to order and no one answered the phone. When I got to Jersey giant they were out of bread so I called again this time someone answered. So I asked if they were baking the bread or getting it delivered and when it was going to be done and all I got was a rude and sassy. I explained I was in the parking lot with my kids and just wanted to see how long it was going to take and once again plain rudeness. The Okemos location no longer has my business. Needless to say I left without lunch.

I like Jersey Giant, but I feel like all the ones except the one on Cedar street have really dry bread?? This one is included unfortunately. It’s not awful, and I’ll still eat here because it’s close by my house, but it could be improved. For sure not as bad as the one on Jolly and Dunkel. I wont even eat there it’s so bad.

Subs used to be a family favorite and now they are just a mess. Price went up, meat went down, veggies arw always nasty looking. Sometimes the staff is great and then sometimes you get a guy who for sure would rather spit on your sub then make it for you. Go in there an hour or so before they are closing and they have almost everything packed away and make you feel like they are doing you a favor getting stuff back out to make you a sub. No thanks I’ll find a new sub shop.

I’ve never eaten here so I didn’t think it fair to give a one star review but I tried to order a sub but they are NOT vegan friendly all bread has an egg wash on it. It would be pretty awesome if they offered vegan friendly bread but they don’t

This is the best quality sub sandwich in mid-michigan. I’ve been buying subs since 1984, and I’ve tried a lot of places around the world. My first “Excellent benchmark” sub was from Intermission Deli in the Hotel Fordney in Saginaw, MI and Jersey Giant meets or exceeds that standard for both quantity, flavor, and service.

Best sandwiches ever. They cut the meat and cheese as they place it on your sandwich. 1/4 of the huge sandwich satisfies me better than an entire subway food long.
