Cancro Special
Provolone, roast beef and pepperoni. In the summer of ’74, the Pepsi delivery man requested a curious combination of provolone, roast beef, and pepperoni. Peter Cancro’s brother, John, liked the sandwich so much, he gave it the family name and a menu spot of its own.

Definitely the dirtiest Jersey Mike’s I’ve ever been in food & trash everywhere behind the counter directly in the food prep area. Lettuce was brown my roast beef was turning grey definitely not a great sandwich. I’m assuming this location is having trouble with staffing the location in Mechanicsville is fantastic & the location on Staples Mill road is good. There were 3 employees fixing the sandwiches like normal but the 1st 2 didn’t speak to me like they were zombies I told them what I wanted(neither asked or responded) then they prepared my sub. I guess it was the manager on duty who rung me up & actually spoke. Jersey Mike’s without question is my favorite sub restaurant but I was really shocked by store cleanliness & food quality.

Food is pretty good, can’t lie. But I frequently come to the restaurant and the front is DIRTY, and a bunch of employees are standing around chatting instead of up keeping the store. I stopped getting drinks from here because there were black things floating in my drink when I got water from the dispenser. There is an employee who always just looks very unkept. Hair looks dirty. Uniform looks sloppy. I saw him picking his nose once. Just disgusting. I think his name is Justin or Josh. When I see he’s making subs, I turn right around. Furthermore, the conversations I’ve overheard them having are not appropriate for work! Especially since there are minors there. I once saw a young lady in plain clothing sitting in the lobby, chatting with a male employee, then she proceeded to walk to the back of the kitchen even though she is not an employee. That has to be a violation or something. I come here because my husband likes it but I don’t think I want to return! At this point, fire the staff and start over.

Horrible takeout service and getting worse. This makes my 4th time ordering takeout using the app and it was wrong every time. Classic turkey w/ provolone mayo on both sides, extra vinegar, onions, lettuce and tomatoes. I received a dry sandwich w/o onions. 1 of the sandwiches didn’t have mayo and no vinegar. New employees need better extensive training.

Service Was nice and Polite but that was about all the good that was there. Went in for lunch around 2:30 so it wasn’t packed. I ordered the giant chicken bacon ranch cheese steak. It came out in a reasonable time. However there was no bacon. The guy I work with ordered the chicken philly cheese steak. He didn’t even get chicken. He got a regular beef cheese steak. Very disappointed in the service after we got our food as well. Overall a poor experience.

We got 2 subs, a chicken bacon ranch and an Italian. The restaurant was very clean. We were greeted and served well. The lettuce was brown and not able to heat subs. They cut the cheese and meat with the same blade that wasn’t cleaned in between. It might be a concern for allergy reasons. It was about $20 for just the 2 subs.
