Cancro Special
Provolone, roast beef and pepperoni. In the summer of ’74, the Pepsi delivery man requested a curious combination of provolone, roast beef, and pepperoni. Peter Cancro’s brother, John, liked the sandwich so much, he gave it the family name and a menu spot of its own.

I am with Butte Vista Parent Club and we had a lunch for our teachers and staff to show our appreciation for all that they do for our kids. It was super easy to place the order for this large party and pick up was a breeze. Hard to go wrong with a hot Philly cheese steak. Service is pretty quick, even if there’s a line ahead of you. Prices are a bit higher than some other places, bit I think you get a good amount of food for what you pay. I haven’t veered away from the hot sandwiches, but I’ve got friends who have and they enjoyed them. I can’t remember how they stated it exactly, but it’s recommended to get less sauce (oil and vinegar) than normal. As I understand it, they get drenched if you get the normal amount. But maybe that’s how you like it and who am I to judge you for that?

Got an og italian. Thick meat stack, looked at it, it was 80% ham. Sorry, it drowned out any other flavor that might have been there. I don’t know if that’s the way it’s supposed to be, I just know the flavor suffered because of it. Decent sandwich size, I got the regular. Shop not clean, not that busy either. Had to clean table. Not that big of a deal. It’s just a little red flag for me. Servers were just ok. Seemed like they were tired, not quite zombies yet but close. Maybe the things that stuck out for me were things about this location/crew, I don’t know. I should of had the cheese steak. Hopefully, that would have been better. I’m a Togo’s fan, their Italian sub is better, in my opinion. Each. To his own I guess.

Just want to preface this by saying I’ve been to many Jersey Mike’s across the Sacramento and surrounding areas and this one is by far the best. I have never had a better experience than I have had received until today. I’m a picky person and like my sandwiches to be perfect. David was helping me the entire time with such joy, friendliness, enthusiasm, and charisma, it literally made my day. His customer service skills are unparalleled and this man deserves a raise. I hope the owner sees this review because he deserves the positive attention and recognition. I wish I could give 6 stars.
