We had a great meal there! The service was friendly and fast. I got a chicken dish wrapped in pastry and my husband the lamb. They both came with grilled veggies, rice and a dip. The rice is pretty tasteless in my opinion, but I could drink the dip and I loved the salad dressing. The portion sizes are generous. Eat here, you won’t regret it.

Was extremely disappointed in the lamb shank! It was not prepared like I am accustomed which is cooked slowly with tomatoes, herbs and spices. The shank I had was not tender. I was not served pita bread in my take out order. The price was definitely not worth it. Will not return. I can cook Middle Eastern food that is far better. Will try the other ethnic Mediterranean restaurants in Mobile.

Superb Mediterranean food! Appetizer combo has an excellent variety with stuffed grape leaves, falafel, hummus and baba ghanoush. Lentil soup and Tabouli are super sides. Gyro and shawarma are great choices.

When I arrived, I was met by a friendly young lady who seated me. I went to the restroom before being seated because I was by myself. She quickly returned and took my drink order. After a few minutes passed she came and took my order. Within minutes it seemed, my salad arrived, it was the prettiest salad I’ve seen yet. It was different (I’ve never had Mediterranean food before) but in a good way. It was beautiful and delicious. Moments after finishing, she stopped to let me know my appetizer should be out shortly, she was going to check on it. She returned with it immediately. It too, was a beautifully plated and very tasty. About halfway through the appetizer, my main dish arrived… It looked like something from a magazine, all of it did. It was equally as delicious! The hostess, checked in several times and was very friendly and attentive and the inside of the restaurant was serene and inviting, very elegant. Overall, it was hands down one of the best dining experiences I believe I’ve ever had.

It’s been so long since I’ve been to Mobile and eaten at Jerusalem cafe, I was shocked to see they’d moved — last year! — from Airport Blvd to their current location on Old Shell Road. So, having gotten a chance to try it again, I figured it was best to delete the old review and start over. The good news is, while the building is new and super nice inside, the food is still just as good as it was at the old location.
