Let me begin with saying that the food taste was fresh and authentic. We were the only ones there when we got there and the waitress seemed bothered to work. The A/C was down so it was hot in there. The waitress or kitchen forgot the entree I ordered and I told the waitress to cancel since we shared many appetizers and another entree we had ordered. She asked the cook if they were making it and they said no but then came to tell me they were working on it when I clearly heard they hadn’t. This caused some drama between the waitress and the cook. They are all family so it was more of a family dispute. They brought it 10 minutes later when we were done with our meal. I felt bad about the dispute it caused and leaving it there so I got it to go. I was charged for it even though I had canceled before they made it. It is a family business and the food was good so I will give it another change and rate accordingly.

As much as I want this place to stay my hidden gem I want it to flourish even more!! Jerusalem International Foods is easily top 3 favorite restaurants in the valley!! Went after church today and it wasn’t packed! The owners are the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. We were seated a greeted with complimentary hot tea(amazing!!) We started with hummus, musakhan rolls, and yogurt cucumber salad!! All light and refreshing. Hits the spot with this hot weather! Plus it’s absolutely stunning! My husband had the beef kabobs with rice and eggplant and I had the chicken shawarma plate with rice and eggplant! There was zero left on our plates! To finish we both had pistachio baklava and we agree it’s the best we’ve ever had! Don’t forget to also check out their market! So many interesting finds you won’t see at an HEB or Walmart.

This is a review of the restraunt not grocery store. Flavors are good and food is authentic but the portions are TINY for the price. Baklava ($2) was the size of a half dollar, gyro sandwich ($14) was mostly bread and empty, ordered hummus and you have to order pita bread seperate, the lamb chop ($20) had 1 bite of meat on it. Total rip off.

I’ve been here several times, the food is always delicious and consistent which matters when it comes to Mediterranean cuisine. The ambiance of the location brings upon an environment that is not found in the Rio grande valley that will interest you. Everything on the menu is delicious these photos are from one of the times I went. I definitely recommend checking this place out and there market does have unique spices and teas in bulk. Their meat market supplies their kitchen, I have yet to try there meat but this weekend I’m off and thinking of grabbing some hala meat from them. Anywho swing by and check out the experience for yourself.

This place is delicious! Whether you eat the buffet or order off the menu you are getting homemade! Haven’t had a bad meal yet and the family is so thoughtful and friendly. They also have a store and halal meat market. Let’s keep this place open!

This place is I loved the service and I tried some platter with all these meats and flat bread it was delicious. I ended up buying food for my entire extended family on accident but we all loved it. I’ve eaten at high end 5 star restaurants in my time and the food here rivals it. This establishment is truly a hidden gem.

I’m wondering how this place got so many good reviews. Maybe we hit it on a bad day. Normally I love Mediterranean food, but not here. The lamb was dry and tough, and so was the rice! The flavor wasn’t even that good. The hummus was okay, but only a tiny portion was included as one of my two “sides.” Atmosphere was nonexistent: it’s a few tables in the same space as a grocery store. Service was very slow even though it wasn’t very busy. We won’t be eating there again. I sure do miss DiMassi’s more than ever!

Amazing food, warm and friendly staff, and a bang for your buck. Got several plates dine-in and to-go – the place was a bit short staffed so the owners threw in some baklava and fries on the house! Super kind folks who run the shop, please visit if you’re ever craving middle eastern cuisine in the RGV.

We went early Sunday morning to take a look. It’s a refreshing change of pace in the valley. Turkish coffee and tea were fantastic. Gyro was good tasting fresh with every bite. Everything else we tried was equally as good off the menu. It tastes authentic.
