My bf took me to a special 30th birthday dinner at J&G and I must say I didn’t know what to expect but they were just the best! I received a card wishing me a happy birthday on arrival. We were sat where we had the most spectacular view of the place and the sun setting. The server was the greatest and brought us complimentary cheese fritters. The food and drinks were amazing I had the salmon w/ sides of asparagus and the potato gratin w/ Comte which was to die for. The Chef did their thing everything was so full of flavor. The complimentary birthday dessert was perfect with a little bit of everything. It was truly a great birthday dinner. I went home with a full tummy and happy heart.

One of the best steaks that I have had in the desert. Visiting town from Los Angeles for the weekend so we wanted a special place to have a great dinner. I have stayed at the Phoenician a few times before so have known about J&G for quite a while but last night was our first time trying it. It has great views of the valley and is very large and open on the inside. They have a large and long bar with live music on one side and then a lot of seating options next to that. We reserved a booth by the window however there was a booking issue so we had to sit at another table. Our server was very polite and prompt, and made up for the seating mishap a bit.

I’ve been to many places where you get good food, good service, a good atmosphere, or a combination of these three. However, this steakhouse seriously had everything. We had a very knowledgeable server with a great attitude, a beverage assistant who kept our waters full & a person clearing any dishes. They all did their jobs with a smile! And to top it off, the view was spectacular!

Great experience. Food was excellent. The shrimp cocktail was big. Three great sauces. Tuna Tar Tar lived up to expectation. Lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing was tasteful with three big strips of bacon across the lettuce. The T-Bone Lamb was excellent. It came out in two pieces. It’s hard to cut and get off the bone but well worth the work. There are three sauces you get to choose from. I recommend the J&G sauce. The filet was juicy and done perfectly. The sides were Yukon mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. The potatoes were great. Almost too soft but good. The Mac and cheese was really good with a layer of cheese baked on top. The sides were the size for sharing with 4 people. Dessert, we got a Dutch apple pie. It was large and great for sharing with someone. Cinnamon I e cream was a nice surprise. Overall, nothing was a disappointment. One last thing. The wine selection is decent. Decently priced and you should find something to your liking on the list.

Went here for our five year anniversary. The service was attentive and phenomenal. The manager wrote a hand written card congratulating us on five years a very nice touch. Everyone from hostess to waitress also congratulated us. The corn ravioli was absolutely delicious. The steaks were on par with any other high end steakhouse nothing over the top but certainly delicious and acceptable. Overall a great experience and the view is absolutely gorgeous.

I reserved a dinner to celebrate a birthday. We were greeted by no less than a dozen staff members. The birthday girl, (my wife,) was wished happy birthday by several. Escorted through the lovely dining room to a table with a view overlooking the valley just before sunset. Had appetizers and cocktails enjoying the evening. Enjoyed dinner and dessert with coffee and tea. At sunset the girls wandered to the balcony to see the view. Felt comfortable yet like honoured guests. Everything was well worth the money.

We arrived at 7:15p for our 7:30 reservation party of 9. We were seated on time, got our first round of drinks going, and they gave us complimentary appetizers due to event coordinator error prior to booking. I typically write great reviews especially for the waiting staff because I appreciate their dedication to customer satisfaction. However, I’m unsure if we were just too big of a table or if our waiter just felt flustered on the slow Monday night. We ended up waiting for our food for 2 hours. We ordered around 8p, they close at 9, and we got our food around 10:05p. The table next to ours with 6 people who arrived an hour after we did was served before us. When we finally got our food, it was cooked well, kind of bland but the sauces helped with that. Some of the food we ordered didn’t come out and when we asked the waiter about it he replied they were out of the item (could have told us when we ordered it). One of our guests ordered a lemon drop martini and he brought out a passion fruit drink and insisted it was a lemon drop even though we told him it wasn’t. We got a desert for our birthday guest and they forgot her candle so we had to remind them even though there were balloons at the table. And finally, they advise they would be able to split the bill on 2 checks, but the waiter seemed flustered again as he appeared to be confused on how to split the check. We just had him put everything on one check because we were all tired and ready to leave at this point. Needless to say we will not be going back and we’re very unsatisfied with this “fine dining” experience! We did get some great photos of the view at least.

My husband and I had a lovely anniversary dinner here. Service was amazing and very attentive, food beautifully prepared but more importantly, extremely good. View of Scottsdale and Tempe was a nice bonus. Highly recommend to go out on the patio after dinner, lovely view.
