I’ve been to Jibarito Time once – during Covid- and wanted to give it a 2nd try. We had the grilled steak jibarito, arroz con gandules, Maduros, parcha drinks, and the lechon jibarito.

Like….Really $20 for that!! First of all that is NOT Puerto Rican rice, that was a Mexican rice with “some” sweet pea, and the meet in the jibarito Not flavor at all…it was my 1st time and For sure is my last!!!

Ah, I wish we had these in Cali! So delicious, made us feel right at home and answered all our questions! Loved that the tables had a little “sanitized” marker, and they really did sanitize after each guest thank you!

I ordered the steak Jibarito to go and was asked if I wanted a combo. I said yes. But wasn’t expecting to pay $6.50 just for some non-authentic puerto rican / no flavored mushy rice.

If I could give them 6 stars I would! Such delicious food and warm and friendly family from the second we walked in. I had mentioned wanting to go here to my husband and he surprised me for my birthday. It was well worth the hour drive. The sandwiches are made with plantains instead of bread and it adds this prefect salty crunch to them that makes you not want to stop eating them. I’m gluten free and I can have most things on their menu, they have dedicated oil, and I had no reactions. If you feel like you need help navigating the menu they are excited to help you. We shared the Sriracha steak and lechon combos with tostones and garlic fries (and ordered 2 to go). We didn’t finish it all as the jibaritos are huge and the sides are a good size too. They were also super sweet and made a birthday dessert which tasted like plantain churros. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Was working in the area and was EXCITED to see a Jibarito spot close BUT what a disappointment.. I’m 100% boricua to the bone and was so disappointed in the food. i shoulda have read the reviews but i always wanna give my people a chance.. rice EXTREMELY salty, $3.75 for a kola champagne and 20 for a jibarrito that had barely 1 piece of bistec inside. i had more platano than meat.. That’s a shame.. i wish i could give a better review but unfortunately would be my last time

This is not authentic puerto rican food. The restaurant was clean. The service was fast, we got our food within 5 minutes of ordering. The food was warm, fresh and was okay. It was just more bland than other authentic puerto rican food I have had. I definitely recommend it but just know what to expect.

Not many good cuban food places in the area so I was super excited to discover a jibarito place somewhat close to me. I ordered by phone, was given a 10 minute waiting time and made it to the restaurant past the time given. But still had to wait almost another 10 minutes. While waiting I noticed there wasn’t a single table clean and there were a few emtpy but not a deal breaker for me.

As much as I would like to give this place five stars, I have to be honest. The food was too salty and I’m 100% Puerto Rican. I’m sorry Mi Gente but I prefer Jibaritos on Harlem and Coco Loco’s Mexican food next door to you guys. You guys at Jibarito Time have great potential just don’t pour ALLLLLL the Adobo please and thank you. Also please put your Puerto Rican flag back up, why did you guys take it down? Why did you guys remove the dominos? Be Puerto Rican and be proud, bring the flag back!! Jibaritos on Harlem has better food and a BIG BEAUTIFUL Puerto Rican flag. I’d rather drive to Chicago to eat there than eat nearby at your restaurant. I’m not trying to be negative and rude I genuinely want to help you guys Mi Gente. Please improve on this. – Isabel Mendez Handsome boys working at your restaurant by the way so there’s one reason why I like your restaurant 🙂
