6 of us were visiting the area from Hawaii, we all loved our food. The best fish tacos I ever had.

Highly recommend this place to any tourist or non local everyone. When I tell you it’s by far the most portion food I have seen in my life. When it comes to the plates. Comes with everything you need for an amazing meal thank you. Salsa section ect

Truly delicious Mexican. Authentic and a big menu selection to choose from. The caldo de res (beef soup) is really good and worth ordering an extra to take home for dinner parties for a meal on another day. The atmosphere isn’t really that good, this place is best to order and take out.

We stopped by to check this place out, and ordered rolled tacos. They were really good and fresh! They have four different types of salsa (all are pretty good but I prefer the creamy green one), and hot carrots at a salsa bar that you can use while you’re waiting for your food which didn’t take long at all! I really would advise you check it out, I’m going back to sample more menu items soon! Bomb!

We just had the best breakfast burritos ever. They were huge and hot. There was rice, beans, potatoes and pico in every bite. The hot carrots were soft and delicious. The hot sauce was perfect. Will be a place we go to on every visit to the La Jolla Indian Res. Thank you Jilberto’s for the best breakfast I have had in years!

After a short but intense hike up to Palomar Observatory this place was especially welcome on the way home. Plenty of seating, everything basic but clean and tidy, great fresh food, good salsa bar. I had two chicken tacos and a cabeza taco and would get them again, the meat was seasoned and cooked well. They have the usual items you would expect at a taqueria and also serve breakfast plates all day. Service is super friendly. Will definitely be back!

The polla asado burrito was super oily and fatty. The rolled tacos were very dry. The carne asado fries were good. Will not return.

The California burrito, Al Pastor tacos and Carne Asada plate were all very tasty and nice portions. To compare to what my local taco shop provides me with, Jilberto’s meat has less charred or “Maillard Reaction” to bring out the flavor of the meat. Jilberto’s meat is very good and tasty, the about comparison is what elevate to the next level about the meat flavor.
