Finally caught them on a day they were open. I’ve seen the steak tips and turkey chops posted by someone else before so I was torn about what to try. I ended up going with steak tips, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. The steak tips were supposed to be on top of mashed potatoes but it looked like they were lost in grits. Maybe they use instant potatoes but they should leave those off the menu because without them my steak dinner would’ve been a 5.

If I could give a 0 star I would! Customer service is terrible and there’s no way to contact them to get an update on your order or see if they’re even open (red flag number 1). Also it’s mid summer and it’s 100 degrees in the restaurant meaning you’re waiting for 30 min on a half fulfilled order (red flag number 2). I made one order on Doordash (12 chicken wings with some sides) you would assume a basic meal that wouldn’t take 1hr 30min to fulfill. It’s kind of pricey, which isn’t a big deal, but if a business is going to charge the way they do at least have the customer service to back it up. Really wish I could’ve gotten more out of this restaurant because it sounds promising but it’s just not worth the time spent figuring out IF they’re open, IF they will accept your order, or even IF they will make a full order. Kind of feels like a draft to be picked for an order. Crazy. Please do better for the east side.

Customer service was absolutely terrible. The lady that took the order did a terrible job explaining why my meal only came with two sides when I ordered three. I spoke to three different people and even when I explained that paying for the additional side was no problem they still proceeded to tell me this couldn’t be done. I could barely get a word out without being cut off. The lady on the phone continues to tell me the online ordering is allowing customers to order more than two sides but that’s not how they operate. I already spent $50 for two meals and didn’t mind paying an additional $7 for another side. After being completely annoyed with the entire situation and the excuses they gave. I will not be going back. The food was delicious the service was horrific and not to mention we had to pull up to the back door to get our food because the front door glass was busted.

Let me just say this… I don’t know who’s back there cooking the food but it is the absolute BEST Soulfood place I’ve had in Indianapolis!!! From the food down to the desserts. If you catch them on a busy day, it’s definitely worth the wait!! Please make y’all way to the west side. I’m tired of coming out East lol

Nasty greens taste like vinegar Mac and cheese mixed with yams together! Mac was watery and flavorless yams was hard and lacked flavor and my chicken was big and not cooked all the way and watery yuck

I have ate here several times and the food is good but the customer service sucks. They open when they want to and the only way to know when they are open is to join their text (supposed to be reward club but I have never received any type of reward in the $1,000’s I have spent with them). They say they are open until a certain time and you get there 3 hrs before they close and they are most likely done taking orders for the day. Absolute worst run business in Indianapolis!

We are from Alabama and were missing our food from back home haha. Food was fresh and hot. We got turkey chops, chicken wings and catfish. Turkey chop was the fav for both of us but the chicken was second. Service by the owner was excellent. Was neat to hear how she got the business going, too. Thanks for a great meal.

This was nasty. Very disappointed I googled this soul food place which was a 25 min drive to spend $40 on a 10pc with no flavor, the green beans taste like straight vinegar…no pepper and my fish was soggy…where are the prices. I should’ve left when I had the chance. It’s obvious the owner did not read this entire review I spent $40.64 to be exact on a 10pc and obviously fish because I stated earlier within this review it was soggy but okay this was my experience. Tell the truth shame the devil. God bless you!
