Came in to order a sandwich. Ordered a slim 5 with mayo. One of the female sandwich makers came at me with attitude, saying she couldn’t add mayo. I responded , ” That’s weird since all your other sandwiches come with mayo.” She responded with a lot of attitude saying “look up and read the sandwich and tell me what it says.” Maybe she would be better in a position with less customer interaction. I won’t be back to this location.

My brother ordered for me as a surprise, was insanely late and not even the complete order showed up. When he tried to get what wasn’t delivered credited back to his card they wouldn’t do it. Ran into this location on Tuesday was limited on time and was surprised at how fast they were. The assistant manager kept calm throughout the craziness of the lunch rush and a yelling customer who in my opinion just needed to yell. He really had no legitimate issue with his service or food. She was able to continue getting sandwiches made and out the door while greeting customers. She deserves a raise for the job she does will be back because of her.

Store is clean and seems efficiently run. Staff is polite and professional. Product quality is good. Why the missing star? Specifications matter. When the Spicy East Coast Italian first came out, I loved it. The last few times I’ve ordered it though, it was missing the taste of all the ingredients to make it special; I mostly just tasted mayonnaise. It was no longer a spicy East Coast, but a bland Midwest. I mentioned it to an employee, who was polite and directed me to the manager, who was also polite. The only reason I am writing this review is just to kind of reinforce my original point, and that is the items on the menu need to be made to specification, and if they’re not, people with discerning tastes will notice. I realize we’re just talking about subs here, but Jimmy John’s has always been a cut above the other shops. If it was Subway, I wouldn’t even bother, but this is a good brand and I want to see it stay great. I am retired and don’t have a lot of money to spend, so when I eat anywhere, I want the whole experience. If it’s just about food, I can do that myself. I want to order something from the menu and not have to give any special instructions. If I start doing that, I’m doing their job, and if I’m doing their job, I might as well be cooking for myself. I realize I’m a little bit pickier than the average customer, but I don’t think I’m wrong to hold a good restaurant to the standards that they themselves have set. The sub was great when they started making it, and I just want to see it stay great.
