This location is always busy yet not a long wait. The fried perch is amazing and the wings are REAL WINGS! Not that party wing platter ya get everywhere else. The sauce SLAPS and the grease is always fresh… MAKES ME not have to wait to get back to Chicago Fo the eats!!!

I wasn’t sure about this place because of the reviews. 1st, the parking lot is small, so it was hard to find parking. It was crowded when I went in; however, it didn’t take long. I ordered the number one fish and shrimp. On my goodness, it was hot and excellent. The coating was not thick on the fish and shrimp. I will definitely be back.

This is my favorite place to go for hot fresh fish. They cook everything to order. As a result, everything is hot and fresh. Even though they are Always busy, their process is efficient, and the wait time is not too bad. This was my parents first time eating there and the loved it. I’m required to pick them up some every time I go to the area. I can’t speak for all locations but this one is one of the best. I live on the Southside but will come to this one. It’s in the hood but they had security. Not sure how often they are there but that was comforting. Prices are reasonable as well.

The man who took my order seemed to be impatient with me. But this was my first time eating at JJ Fish & Chicken; I had questions (about the meal options). The Fish (Tilapia) and Fries were hot and fresh. Although my receipt says “Dine-In”, you can’t eat it inside, all of the tables and chairs are off the dining room floor, moved to a corner. There is no mask required and only 1 employee has on a mask. The restrooms are even closed to the public. Since all orders are “TO-Go”, it should have been cleaner inside than it was. JJ Fish & Chicken is a seafood restaurant I would eat at again. Went back again: Fish Sandwich, Okra….

So this place is in the hood most definitely, don’t let that scare you. The food is amazing . I got the combo with wings and fish. The whiting as good it could have used some more seasoning though, the wings now … they were so good they remind you of wing your granny may have cooked. The seasoning they use on the wings are everything. I should have just got the wings. They were that good.

This is my second time eating here. I ordered the fried gizzard Noth times. The first time they were tough and I could not eat them. The second time I went I ordered the same thing and expressed to them how hard the 1st ones were and they said they would cook them longer so they can be tender and not hard. Still came out the same. I will not be returning.
