Joey’s pizza is a small town pizza shop that is in Kirkland, IL. They are not open on Mondays and only open after 3pm, so no lunch options. It is good pizza and they have a good variety of choices. They have other options besides pizza and their appetizers are good too.

Deep dish, sausage, onion, pepper & mushroom! Was absolutely delicious. They even catered to my request of smaller sausage balls. After it was all said & done, they called back to see how we enjoyed the pie! They make their sausage & sauce from scratch! Definitely recommend! Worth the drive !

My family stopped in for lunch after camping in Kirkland. It’s a cute spot. The menu has lots of choices. The prices are high for a family restaurant but we understand everyone is trying to recover from covid shut downs. The server was nice enough. The problem came with the quality of the food. The kids menu is limited with 4 choices for breakfast and 4 for lunch/dinner. He chose a pancake and bacon. The bacon was some of that precooked junk that you just microwave. Yuck. Our daughter had the corned beef sandwich. It had no taste and was a couple thick pieces of what looked to be just ham of a weird color. The best part of our meals were the French fries and the ranch dressing. The salads that came with our sandwiches were literally just lettuce with a little bit of carrot shreds… no tomatoes, no cucumbers.

Not as food as I was expecting.. The sausage was weird. It had an uncomfortable sweetness to it. The pizza sauce was bland. None of the spices or flavors I was hoping for was in the sauce. The crust wasn’t anything to special. It wasn’t greasy or oily which I was the only plus side. All the vegetables that were in the pizza didn’t seem frozen or canned. I had high hopes for this pizza. I was really hoping a throwback pie from my days in Genoa… Didn’t get it here. And I’ll probably never have a pizza like that again. We miss ya Nick…….. Anyway. If you’re looking for your “Average Joey” pizza you’ll find it here….

I’ve been here a few times now, this being the third or fourth. Every time I’ve gone the food has been fantastic, I’ve gone as far as to recommend this place over other places in the area. This most recent time I went it was all kids working and my entire order was microwaved to completion apart from my pizza. Terrible that none of the children care to uphold the respect their parents and grandparents have built with the community. Please keep an adult on staff to ensure the same quality is upheld throughout the day.
