John & Mary’s was always our go to when visiting my grandparents in Lackawanna. Stopped at a different location on Broadway (Depew?) about 2 years ago and I was very disappointed. About a week ago we stopped at this location. We got a chicken finger sub, steak sub and fries. It was all excellent. The service was friendly and fast. We will definitely drive out of our way to visit this location again.

For me this place had a very average chicken finger sub though I guess this place is known for them. I had that and ordered a stinger sub as well and was overall disappointed by my meal. The fries were also just okay and I saw them simply reheat my fries in fryer as I walked over to counter vs a fresh order since they say out for awhile. There’s pretty sandwiches in area to try. Don’t get caught up in the hype.

First time ordering from this location. So disappointed. Got the 1/2 turkey sub lunch special. Fries weren’t fully cooked. Look at the sub! Are you kidding me ??? Lettuce ??. $20 order with 1/2 a- bomb. What’s funny is I said it’s my first time there. You would think they would make it with at least decent lettuce

This franchise is hometown loving and one I have returned to for decades from my childhood, the subs are better than any I’ve had anywhere in the country, I’ve been back to Buffalo only a few times in 20 years but it’s always my first choice for food and I will never forget the memories I have had in any of their restaurants as a child.

The food(Royal Sub) is good. But the customer services was kinda poor. The lady at the front wasn’t very welcoming. I was extra polite to her and she seemed to brighten up towards the end of the transaction. I honestly don’t think her poor attitude had anything to do with me. But young lady if you’re reading this you got to be more mentally strong and treat your customers as though they are valued and they are important. People are suffering out there and they need your tender love and care. But again, Thanks for the great sub!! 2nd best I’ve ever had. I love you!! ❤️

1st time ever at John & Mary’s. 10 out of 10!! We split the steak hoagie and a chicken finger sub. Can’t believe we’ve never eaten here before. Ten times better than Jim’s Steakout in my opinion! Also, the employees were really great! We will definitely be back!
