We haven’t been to Johnny’s in years. We decided to give it a try since we heard it’s under new management. We got the sweet tea, flounder plate and bbq plate. Everything was spot on. It took a little bit to get our meal but the owner came out and saw people just had drinks and went back and got the food quickly. We will be back.

My husband and I were there this past Wednesday for a late lunch around 2:30. They were not busy at all! One table of utility workers and I believe one or two tables at the most. We both ordered fish plates. The girl that actually waited on us was ok, but the other one…she needs to be taught that the waitress station area is definitely NOT the place to remove and then reapply your entire makeup regiment for the the rest of the day. All at the same time as delivering food to the tables and doing drink refills without washing her hands after rubbing stuff all over her face!!! Our food came out not so hot, food was sitting in grease! Not sure what has happened to Johnny’s! Used to be a great place to eat! Used to have to wait for a table! When the cooks got our order done, they proceeded to come out and sit at the bar like they had nothing to do! I’ve worked in the restaurant business for years, trust me, there’s always something to do! Come on Johnny’s, y’all could do much better!!! No wonder the parking lot is always empty!!

Got there about 6 pm on a Sunday. They were slow maybe 5 tables had people at them. Waitress was quick to get to us and ask for our drinks very friendly. Took about 15 minutes after she took our food order to get our food,my food was cold when I received it. I got the country style steak which was not cube steak it was more like a is like a roast beef covered in gravy. The fried squash had a bunch of rock hard bits of battered crust at the bottom of my bowl.

Johnny’s never disappoints! Every time we are in Rowan County we usually end up at Johnny’s. It doesn’t matter if it’s lunch or dinner, the service has always been exceptional. Their BBQ Trays are always great, but I can’t forget the Best Ever Fried Pickles (you won’t be disappointed- my husband hates pickles and will actually eat these). Chicken Tenders are always great, fries are crispy, any salad you order is always great and the Ranch is on point!!! All the years we’ve visited and we have never been disappointed. The employees are always so friendly and the waitresses always take care of you and are so friendly!

Idk what happened after the change of ownership but 3 times we have been done wrong, and nobody cares it jus happens again, they offered to fix the problem but never do… the first time they gave my father little spoonful sides, no lies like he literally had bout 2 spoons of pinto beans. Then 2 times in a row I was told I would get my fries the first time they didn’t come til we were all done bout to leave. 3rd time we both got like a few o ion rings but they are gonna bring us more, psych. The food taste fine but the portions are for toddlers. The service, looks like the atmosphere although there is 1 girl there that’s trying, but I worked in restaurants and it takes a team. Oh and them last onion rings was floating for an hour I guess cause they was crunchy like dry cereal. This is no joke guys please see for your self, or trust me and skip out on food in rockwell period right now, too many kids that don’t care or they are too high. #facts

This restaurant was.pretty much dead when we arrived…that should’ve been the 1st warning…..I got the grilled chicken salad. My husband got a burger with fry and side of Mac and cheese. #1 my salad was $8.99…NOT WORTH IT. I’d rather make my own salad. My husbands food…his Mac and cheese was like box Mac and cheese with the powder, I called it fakearoni. They forgot his fries w/ ranch and when they finally gave them to him they weren’t done..they were chaulky and made him nauseated..and he still never received his ranch. Also water is considered a custom order! Water cost more than tea! Waiting staff sucked too.

Tuesday night, apparently they were doing all you can eat BBQ. They had no BBQ. Brunette waitress with the tattoos kept telling every single person how everyone had left her alone. Spilled water, rolled eyes at others coming in, but I don’t believe there were more than 4 tables the whole time we were there. Didn’t cut on music until kitchen also had music going. Another customer asked about both going and they turned the dining back off since the kitchen one was so much louder and the guy was singing. Got the burger and it was just prefrozen patties. Kitchen forgot the home fries and then told server it was still cooking…Server forgot about refills, then yelled to some little blonde girl to get it when we were going to pay. She used the cup to scoop the ice and I said nevermind it then waited to be rang up in a line of just me. Fries were OK so there’s that.

Great food at good prices. Wait staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. BBQ plates are great. Very lean and smoky.

My wife ordered her and our daughter a hamburger at take out and both were prepared wrong. Ordered me what was suppose to be a loaded baked potato that cost $3.99. Don’t know if we’ll be going there anymore if they can’t even make a hamburger correctly. And what they gave me for a $4 potato wasn’t worth ordering and no sour cream. I added a photo of it.

Food was delicious. We moved in town and some recommended and some didn’t. We decided to take our chances and this place didn’t disappoint. My husband got the “all you can eat fried fish” and I got the barbeque plate. I enjoyed everything, except the beans. Didn’t like the ketchup type of sauce on them. Other than that, we’ll be going back to try something else in the menu.
