So this barbecue place was interesting to me. As soon as I opened up the box, you just got hit with the smack of smoke flavor more than any of the other ones. The ribs were different than the other ribs I had at the other places as well the smoke flavor hit you from the first bite, which was great. So I think these are my favorite ribs. I eat this week as far as the sides go. The baked beans reminded me of the baked beans I had as a child, the better, so I love the flavor of them if you don’t know, but they were my favorite from the other places I went to. The coleslaw, the the regular one was the best law I had in town. The hot coleslaw which I’ve never had before and never seen was hands-down, my favorite I have never had a coleslaw like that in my life. I loved it and I love the heat. This is also my second time having Brunswick stew it was different than the first Brunswick stew I had were this was more of a stew. The other one was a little bit more of a soup. This one was awesome though I liked it. The only thing I didn’t like was the pulled pork for two reasons. One it was already sauced I’m more of a dry pulled pork, 2. I like when you get the pieces of pulled pork that have the rub on it like bark I couldn’t taste any of the rub, but it was still solid pulled pork just not my favorite the staff here was amazing though they hooked me up and I will be back next time. I’m in Dalton.

Great place, actually stopped by on my way home to Indiana from Florida. If you want authentic southern comfort food, this is it. Much better than chain restaurants! Has the genuine atmosphere, too!

First address the three I gave it for atmosphere. The place is really cute but when I have to go in I never like it because their customers always put on Fox News and that just kills me because it just broadcast hate. I wish they would lock it on a sports channel or some other neutral channel. But that said you can’t beat it for food so I go there and I’ve been going there forever. And they sell a Nelson plate…what else could a person need. Hook that up with the good service and friendly people and I can’t recommend it enough.

Ordered large pork plate for lunch at 11:35am. The baked beans were cold with no flavor. It’s like they opened a generic can and just poured them straight into my styrofoam container. The BBQ (I use this term lightly) was cold and mush. The sauce was watered down leaving it with no flavor. Almost tasted like a ketchup. Onion rings were good but not good enough to say I’d ever go back. I was hungry so I forced myself to eat about half the pork and 2 spoonfuls of the beans. Not feeling the best. DO NOT EAT HERE and if you do get something besides the bbq.

Amazing service. Good food. Perfect portions of food. not to little that your still hungry and to much that you either have to take it or throw away. I got the BBQ plate and my husband got the ribs both were great choices!

I love the BBQ Pork they have. They have the best brunswick stew, but I decided to try the chili they have started selling. I was not impressed. Next time I’ll stick with the brunswick stew

Deciding on who makes the best BBQ is like winning the argument on who’s grandmother makes the best potato salad. It’s all relative according to your taste. As I sit here with a full belly, I can tell you John’s serves up an ample portion of food.. I came for the stuffed baked potato but they were already sold out by 5:30 on a Monday. Come early for this popular item. I decided on the pork plate with three sides:. French fries, baked beans and slaw. Fries crisped to perfection, slaw creamy and satisfying. The baked beans lacked homemade appeal, not sure they came from a can. Lastly I hate to insult anyone’s barbecue but to give you an honest review it had a hint of burnt taste. If something gets scorched in the cooking process it’s almost impossible to cover that up. I will definitely be back but much earlier to try one of those baked potatoes.

I had been hankering for some ribs all day. I really wanted to like this place. I love local business. I ordered the ribs and they were horrible. Never had ribs as bad tasting as these. Dry, tasteless, tough. The french fries and coleslaw were good so maybe the rest of the menu items are OK but I definitely would not go here for ribs very berry unappetizing. The staff however, was excellent and friendly. Maybe they can rework the rib recipe?
