I will begin with the positives which is that the food is tasty however, the customer service is horrible as far as the staff’s attitudes and the prices are very high. $5 for a tiny side of rice although rice is one of the most inexpensive items to probably prepare on the menu. The plantains were thrown in a container without care so they were all mashed up. Find a better business to support because this is pretty sorry.

The place has been around my block and I remember it’s opening in the mid 90s. Food has always been delicious and you can smell it from a block away. Only thing is sometimes the wait can be a bit much, but that’s a great thing considering they sell a lot.

I bought some rotisserie chicken with black rice and black beans with an avocado salad and some arepa’s de yucca. The lady who took my order was nice and helped with ordering. The rice and chicken was good. The arepa’s de yucca were undercooked, but usually they’re good.

It’s not what it used to be. The ladies there are chatting and laughing not paying attention to what you’re ordering making you repeat yourself over and over again. I just left there and one of them took care of a customer at the register who was after me. I told her and she literally looked at me straight into my face, didn’t care, then looked at the other lady and both laughed. I’ve been a customer there for many years. This is very disrespectful. Don’t think I’ll be going there anymore. I wonder if the owner checks up on his business.

One of the places you can get some really good rotisserie chicken for a very affordable price. They have a lot of different type of sides for you to choose from.

Fried chicken was pretty dry but I don’t mind that at all! I thought it was delicious! I had the #1 and it came with 1 wing, 1 thigh and 1 leg with your side of rice. They have about four different kinds of rice and I chose the rice with black beans. I wish I would’ve gone with the orange rice with vegetables, that one tasted a lot better than the rice with black beans. The rice with black beans was extremely salty. So is there crunchy rice, very salty. All in all I did love the chicken:) It was my first time and next time I go, I will only get the fries chicken and grilled plantain with the side of cassava

If you are going to name your place ” _____ fried chicken” then your fried chicken should be priority and taste great. I hate KFC and yet I will say it tasted similar or worse than KFC. Small pieces. It was breaded and cold. Why is the chicken not fried to order? Something told me to go with the rotisserie. But, I wanted “fried” and this was a let down.

The sign in front is very misleading I went in to buy fried chicken and found that they did not sell “Fried Chicken” only South American style Spanish food, being that I was hungry I bought a plate of yellow rice red beans and some roast pork and that was “Average at Best”!! If you are looking for fried chicken, ironically John’s Fried Chicken is not the place. “The sign says that the place has been there for years, but if they’ve been open and successful for all these years, Why hasn’t anyone ever told them about their Bait & Swich sign. Sorry just calling it as I see it and taste it..
