Called in a to go order, experience was great from start to finish. Friendly customer service on the phone and in person. The food….best pizza I have had in town, made the trip from Goldsboro to try this spot and it was worth it 100% and I will be back. The pizza crust was cooked perfect, the toppings and flavor of the pizza were fantastic. If you want the best pizza around, hit up John’s pizza! I will deff be back!

Johns pizza is the best! I love how they have 3 different types of crust options. We had the Yellowstone pizza and hands down, probably the best pizza I’ve had in a while. The workers there were so sweet and helpful. They even brought out our pizza to bar at first brew. Such a lovely spot and would definitely come back.

I Love this bar! No need to say more. Now we have steak and potato night on Thursdays. Pikeville is the not so hidden gem in Wayne county, and Johns Grill and First Brew are its standard bearers.

While visiting the little town of Pikeville I suggested we eat at this place. They do not offer many options for vegetarians so I ordered the garden salad which was the only option I had, the cashier said it came with croutons, however what I received was a small soup bowl of salad with no croutons. But for just under 4 bucks I guess it was fair. My dad ordered the spaghetti, if you like spaghetti out of a can then you might be happy. Unfortunately my dad doesn’t like spaghetti out of a can so this was not ideal. My mom ordered a meatball sub with fries and she was happy with her selection. The place was clean and staff was pleasant. On the plus I walked to the brewery next door and ordered a draft beer which was really good!

I love mom & pop restaurants and I almost always have positive things to say about them, but not this time. We ordered take out over the phone and live about 10 minutes from the restaurant. I know in that time the food will not be “hot”, but our food wasn’t even warm. Once we arrived to pick up, we had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get the order, so everything should’ve been hot, but everything was cold. I ordered the Dutton Burger. There were only 3 very small saute’ed onions on it and 1 small slice of bacon…and yes, it was cold. For nearly $10 for this burger, you would expect to get more. The 5 boneless hot wings were cold too, as if it was the first thing cooked and put to the side. The Mac n Cheese was cold as well and my son wouldn’t eat it. The tots and pickle fries were barely warm. The salad, of course, was cold as it should be, which is why I gave 2 stars along with the fact that the entire order was complete and accurate. We spent $54 there before the tip. The amount of food received along with the quality does not entice me to make food plans for this restaurant anytime soon, if ever. I do hope this was a fluke and better service is provided for other patrons in the future.
