We have came here before a few times to play at the arcade with family but were warned not to even attempt to eat the food, family members claimed the food was disgusting and overpriced. Today when we visited we wanted to give the food a try for the first time only to be instantly disappointed. When first looking at the pizza you could tell that everything about it was wrong. Ordered the managers special with no mushrooms. The dough was stale with some marinara sauce, full slices of deli ham stacked onto each other, huge cubes of raw bell pepper, huge olives, canned pickled jalapeños?, and you guessed it, mushrooms. On top of the whole monstrosity they put a small amount of cheese on the very top of it all. It was a disaster and as soon as you picked up a slice all of the toppings fell off. We were so hungry and spent nearly $30 on the pizza so we tried as best as we could to just eat it. Overall not worth the price and wasn’t enjoyable at all… slicing the ham, bell peppers, and olives into smaller pieces/slices would have helped the pizza and the owner save money on wasted product. Also using fresh jalapeños instead of canned ones, and putting cheese on top of the Mariana sauce instead of attempting to hold all the toppings onto the pizza would have made a worlds difference. Will not be trying their food again and wouldn’t ever recommend to eat at this location.

This is a place I’ve been going to since high school Thursday nights was the big night in high school. There was a family that owned it. for many years my understanding is the ferris family is taken it over I think they’ve done well in transition. The service was outstanding the food was good. The same quality it was back in the old days. I saw a birthday party for a young person there that was quite enjoyable I encourage all people of Ridgecrest to go into John’s and get a pizza or grinder. Keep up our tradition it’s hard to see our oldest establishments not have the volume they’ve always had.

Too many games were down, they alway have trouble with the wifi, apparently. It’s been about a year with the same issue. I guess they don’t care to fix the problem. Staff was great, food was good.

I ordered for delivery and we have a enclosed patio, you walk in then go to our front door, then ring our doorbell, but the delivery person couldn’t figure that out and left our food on the outside step.

Wish this place was better, but for the price it isn’t worth it. Ordered a pepperoni and jalapeño medium pizza and a side of breadsticks. Didn’t check the pizza when we picked it up. Got home and found it to be overly greasy, horribly cut, and the toppings were not evenly distributed. The breadsticks were stuffed in a paper bag and a wrinkled undercooked mess when we pulled them out. Definitely disappointing especially for the $30 price tag. Pizza factory or dominos provides a better product for a better price

Good pizza, very attentive staff, the restaurant decor is dated and could use a refresh, but I would not hesitate to eat here.

My husband and I recently went with our kids. Our waiter, I didn’t get his name, but he was great! The pizza was so good and the ice cream as well! Our kids also loved the arcade.

The last time I was at John’s Pizza was 40 years ago, when my dad was station at China Lake Naval base in the 80s and went to see if our old house and elemtary school were still there, unfortunately it was shutdown and the house was gone. Anyways, my dad asked what to eat before heading back to LA. Of course, he suggested John’s pizza, since it was his favorite go to pizza joint offbase. When we arrived, our first expression was, it doesn’t look busy because it was during mid-week especially during lunch hour. I can’t really say much about the inside. I wouldn’t remember when you’re 4yrs old, but my dad says, it didn’t change much. After ordering our food, we told the waitress a little story when we used to go to John’s pizza in the 80s and how packed it was, she just nodded, “yeah 3x” and started to walk away, like she didn’t want to hear our story. Well, the food wasn’t greatest, a bit greasy and bland, but I’ve had better. I don’t know about the customer service, it felt like they were rushing us to finish up and leave. I know it’s been a year now and I am now writing this review. Chao!
