Good food IF they get your order correct. So far, my order has only been filled correctly one time. I will still be going back despite the lack of accuracy of my orders. This picture shows what is supposed to be a pound of shrimp and hush puppies. I wound up with a half pound and some fish but no hush puppies.

No greeting, no smile, no eye contact, no personality and blunt answers. The young adult did come from the back and said, “May I help you”. The facilities were neat. A pile of breaded meat was stacked in a bin out on the counter. Left without ordering. First impressions are lasting.

I loved this place until now. Very disappointed because I spent over 45.00 for a pound of lake perch and a pound of shrimp not knowing it’s under new management. Shrimp was jumbo in the past not barely nickle size. Fish was soggy and neither would hold the breading. Also, tried calling after leaving valpo and they never answered even after I got there. Phone was off the hook so you couldn’t place an order till you got there. Never minded paying extra for good quality food. This was not! Would have been better going to Long John Silver’s!

I couldn’t give the food any star. Tried for the first time today I got the Cajun catfish & my guy got the perch we also got the coleslaw. My fish tastes fishy like they got it right out the ocean n fried it my guy said the seasoning wasn’t right and the coleslaw had no seasoning. Food just didn’t tastes good money went down the drain cause we couldn’t finish it that’s how bad it was we threw it away. If I could leave negative stars I would. I called to place an order and was placed on hold. After 10 minutes of being on hold I hung up and called back and all I got was dial tone. So I went to the restaurant to order. There was no cars parked and no one inside ordering. When I got inside all of the employees were “taking a break”. One was sitting down on his phone sitting on the customer chairs. The other two employees were just twiddling their thumbs. When I come to order I mention that I tried to call in but kept getting the dial tone and was placed on hold but they paid me no mind. They just proceeded to take my order. After asking about the menu options I noticed that the menu in the store was different than online so I inquired about it. They offered no explanation except “it isn’t like that anymore.” And they were out of some of the menu options that was on the “current” menu. The customer service was horrible at best. No professionalism whatsoever. I didn’t even order because I was so disgusted. And when observing their attire it was dirty and looked like they had cooked in them a week ago and it crusted over.

Was on time for pick up. Was disappointed in the filet size and portions. Ordered a pound of perch but there was no way the little filets and amount equaled 1 pound. The flavor was good just not the portion for the price. The shrimp same thing great flavor but were small to be called jumbo shrimp. Been going there for years this was the first time since new ownership. I will indeed give it another shot.

2nd Sunday in a row that I’ve had bad service! Won’t answer phones and said that they were busy. When I went there they were doing nothing! If people don’t want to do their job get new people!!! Miss the old Johnson’s! IF I go back again and it’s the same I know another seafood place. I’ll post it!
