Super cute tucked away place with great food. We were worried when we arrived bc it was empty but the host quickly showed us to the cute garden out back where other diners were enjoying the fare. We LOVED the octopus & burrata then chose 2 delightful pasta dishes. Both we’re fabulous. Nice wine & wonderful dinner overall.

Found Jose Luis completely by accident on Google map but end up being the best thing ever on my NYC trip. The staff was super welcoming and friendly. We got the beets salad, mariaco paella and two sangrias. The paella is just chef kisses so delicious, definitely the best one that I have ever had!! Moreover, we got four complementary limoncello shots, they were delicious as well!!! Will definitely come back the next time I visit New York❤️

We were a party of 4 ladies and from the moment we walked thru the door Diego treated us like VIP. The tapas menu was excellent, the breschetta was excellent, very well presented and the flavors were so well paired the crunch of the bread was nothing short of a flavor sensation. The Spanish omelette was a hit! The egg melts in your mouth leaving you wanting more, the side of marinara sauce is brilliant and adds to the dish. The meatball tapas were robust and filling. The sauce was very flavorful and contributed to the overall heartiness of the dish. We had the mixta paella which was filled with seafood, meats and a warm flavor. It was delicious and filling. We also had the carbonara and it was also delicious, the pasta was cooked to perfection and the bacon had a rustic smoky taste. I was fortunate enough to order the Pappardelle Al Ragu ( at Diego recommendation) this dish was filled with sausage, mushrooms, cheese laid in a sauce made in the heavens. The drinks were top notch and as delicious as they read on the menu. The sangria is a must have, with all the flavors available you are sure to find a favorite. The service was beyond amazing, we met Jose Luis himself and he made us feel at home so much so that although we all had things to do the next day we opted to stay for one more round. I haven’t felt this welcomed in a while. Good food, good drinks, and good people. Highly recommended.

My girl friends and I went out to celebrate our best friend’s birthday and what a time we had. The food was excellent, the ambiance was warm and inviting. Both most of all the service was top tier. The owner of the restaurant greeted us upon arrival and went above and beyond to ensure that we a great experience. The drinks were also really wonderful and paired well with the entire vibe. The music was so fun ! They played all the classics. I’m from New York, born and raised and have never experienced anything like this in NYC. I will 100% be returning to try everything else on the menu. 🙂 thank you so much Jose for the wonderful time !!!!! See you soon!

Went here with a large group for dinner. The staff was wonderful and the ambiance was lovely. We were seated on the outdoor patio with twinkling lights and trees. The potatoes bravas were so good we ordered them multiple times. The paellas are incredible! We got the meat lovers and the marisco. Both had deep flavor and the portions were a nice size. The calamari and the meatballs are very good too and worth ordering. Yummy sangria and a sweet kind owner that takes so much pride in his restaurant. A wonderful experience all around. PS: The happy hour is one of the best in the city, discount tapas and drinks!

We just had a fun and delicious night at Jose Luis. We started with four delicious apps (shrimp, octopus, peppers, and bruschetta so good we ordered a second round). All were flavorful. For dinner we had beet salads, gnocchi, and paella. Devoured them – again, super good. We loved the salad dressing and the paella spices were just right. We were celebrating and ordered two desserts – flan and tiramisu and these were also great. The whole meal was delicious start to finish and tons of options – for our meat eater, our fish eater, and our vegetarian. The service was GREAT. Jose exudes happiness which was infectious – he took great care of us, and he’s very funny as well. We’ve only been once, but we will be regulars!

I usually don’t post but the service here was so great that I had to! The waiters were so accommodating, especially our waiter Diego! He made the restaurant experience amazing, and we met the owner Jose himself, who gave us free shots! The food was great too! We had the maxia paella, the bruschetta, the omelette, the carbonara, and all their sangrias were really good. The mojito was especially good if you don’t have a big sweet tooth. we were there on a wednesday, which made the restaurant a little quiet but very intimate (they have a good music selection) and nice to go with friends. Great place!

Such a nice place with a scenic and homely atmosphere, especially at night. The owner, whose namesake adorns the location, is a very kind and humble person who was very attentive. Would definitely come back to this location!
