Josephine is a celebration of family and food, focused on Italian favorites and simple pleasures.
Josephine features deep dish & thin wood fired pizzas and whimsical riffs on classic Italian foods, all set in a lively space. A massive marble bar with craft cocktails, ice cold martinis on tap, and a huge out door space that’s dog friendly with an outdoor bar and fire pit will bring you back again and again.

So excited for this new addition to Somerville! Great atmosphere and menu. Drinks were delicious and while we liked all of our dishes, the favorite was the “I think we’re alone now” thin crust pizza. We can’t wait to come back to try the pasta and small plates!

Beyond a neighborhood gem – this is such a great addition to the greater Boston food scene. You might think $35 for a deep dish pizza is insane, but one bite and you will be convinced. The sauce is rich and the ingredients come together like an orchestra, with each part being gloriously delicious on its own, and increasing the gustatory delight as the flavors blend and enhance each other with each bite.

Some of the best spaghetti and deep dish pizza I’ve ever had. It’s clear why they keep the menu limited, because the attention to detail is noticeable. They have nice outdoor seating; however, they inexplicably turned on the infrared heaters when the temperature was still in the 70s. Will definitely be going back.

I was told by a very close friend that I had to try this place and I extremely happy with his recommendation!! This restaurant is absolutely Beautiful, everything was perfect it was relaxing the out door space was huge and so well done. The food was absolutely delicious!!! The whole staff was very attentive and friendly our waitress Cindy was the friendliest and on top of everything!!! Thank you for an amazing experience can’t wait to come back!!!

Pretty solid new pizza restaurant. The restaurant was not busy on the 3rd Thursday since they opened which was surprising, but then again the location is a bit of a walk away from all the popular city squares.

Went last night and had an amazing upscale, Italian dining experience! The cocktails were great, deep dish pizza was indulgent and delicious, and rice balls were to die for (HIGHLY recommend the sausage & onion). Not to mention the staff was attentive and kind. Union Square has been sorely missing a restaurant like this and I will certainly be coming back for seconds 🙂

I was lucky enough to stumble upon this brand-new gem of Somerville and Cambridge. An atmosphere similar to an upscale NYC cocktail bar with an impressive kitchen with wide windows and a bar that stretches on and on. I got the Joseph’s Dry Aged Burger and an Italian Pilsner from Black Hog (Oxford, CT).

The pizza here is so so good! We started dinner with the sausage, caramelized onion and fontina suppli which was delicious. We also got the I think we’re alone now pizza which was literally perfect in every single way possible! Ended the night with the zeppole which were probably our least favorite thing we had but they were still yummy. I can’t wait to come back because there are so many great other things I want to try!!
