Here because my family loves southern food but each encounter has been over an hour wait… Please take into consideration your serving time.

I ordered the fried catfish, potato salad and greens. This Was the best fried catfish I’ve had in years! It was flavorful, not too greasy/oily and tasted fresh. The prices were very reasonable. The staff was very welcoming and gave me excellent customer service! I highly recommend Josiah’s if you have taste for great soul food and excellent customer service!

Good, hearty and delicious food. The owner was very down to earth, up close and personal in her kitchen talking to us while she prepared our meal. She made us feel at home. Great customer service! We will be returning.

Some people might shy away from a local place, but my wife and I love to try them. The people that run this restaurant are very friendly. You feel like you have been invited over for dinner at a friend’s house. We ordered fried grouper fillet but got chunks of grouper, which we suspect were grouper throats, but definitely not a fillet. The meal took longer than we expected (about an hour to get), and it was disappointing not to get a fillet. Everything arrived nice and hot with generous portions. Worth the time!

I was very excited to try this place because I’m from the deep south and haven’t found any good soulfood places here in panama city. Soon as I open the plate it looked like everything was out of a can. There wasnt any seasoning. The cornbread is white instead of yellow. The ribs was tough and undercooked and tasted old. The rice was mushy and had hard parts. Only half decent item in my plate was the yams. Also when you serving the public you shouldn’t have a rude demeanor.

This was my first visit. I only ordered 2 sides, rice and green lima beans. I didn’t order a meal because I didn’t see any options that was not something fried. The beans were well seasoned but I’m not a fan of crunchy rice. Will I go back, it’s likely, but I will definitely make sure the rice is done before leaving.
