A brother in Christ
I go here every Thursday for the hamburger steak. Their mac n cheese is something I really look forward to throughout the week. Great southern home cooking. I can’t help it, but I go all out when I order: double mac n cheese, black eyed peas, collards AND a fried chicken breast to sop up the gravy from the hamburger steak. The only negative is that they get really, really busy sometimes and when they do I don’t bother. It sometimes takes about 30-45 minutes to get in and out. When I time it right, though, I can get in and out in 10-15 minutes. Thursday lunch at Josie’s is definitely the one lunch day I look forward to the most. Wednesdays they have ranch chicken as well, which is also delicious, and Fridays, if you can brave the crowd, they do fried fish.

The food was so delicious. You have to wait in a line for service but you would never be disappointed. The restaurant is small but it had a great vibe. The vegetables were what I would definitely recommend because they were soft but not overcooked. Please come visit this lovely restaurant if you stop by this small town.

Skip the line and go somewhere else. 44 minutes in line, just to order. It was 2 people in the line in front of me. I will never come here again. Took me over a hour to get my lunch, I got back to work late and couldn’t even eat the food. Take it from me and go to El Patron around the corner. The food is great and by the time you eat your food and go to your destination, Josie’s would just be starting to plate the food. Never again. Lesson learned

Always great cooking here. Wednesdays is ranch chicken day and no one else’s compares to theirs. Thurs they serve hamburger steak, which is tender and juicy. The sides are always good and everything is seasoned just right. Their fried chicken has the crunchiest breading. I can’t resist getting a piece even if I’m ordering something else. I’d post a picture but it’s always gone before I think about posting a review.
