Did I want to eat noodles on a 90 degree day? Of course not, but the name of this place belies what else is on the menu. Great sushi and their own South-Western/Pan-Asian dishes like Salmon Poke Tacos and crispy rice sushi with jalapeños.

Always go here for their Takoyaki it’s really delicious will come back for it again two plates of em. The only Japanese Restaurant near me that sales Takoyaki wish I can post a picture, but this Google app on Android doesn’t give me the ability to do so.

Vegan options available. On this trip tried the new veggie rice bowl. Added egg and shared garlic with hubby. Tofu is crispy on outside, while still very moist, special sauce is a cross between BBQ and sweet teriyaki. Avocado is very fresh and seaweed has a nice tang to it which works well with the sweet corn. I always like to add the egg at ramen houses, as it is soft boiled. Veggie to rice ratio is good. Didn’t end up with a giant bowl of rice. Sat on patio on a balmy but pleasant summer night. Street is busy, so if you dont like traffic, sit inside. Wide eclectic range of music playing. Iced green tea was refreshing.

What a horrible establishment. I called about 30 minutes before they closed to place a takeout order. The first thing the employee asked was if I was going to be there before 9 because they didn’t want to stay working late. I understood, no one wants to be at work late. But really??? I haven’t even placed my order and you’re already complaining about until what time you need to be at work? You have an entire 30 minutes before you close, so you’re going to be there anyway and you’re turning away guests? As a business owner I would not appreciate an employee turning away guests. After all, that’s what sustains the service industry- guests. I called back to tell the “gentleman” who answered the phone how rude it was to treat a guest in such manner, and he hung up. As a restaurant employee myself, it’s highly disappointing to encounter this type of behavior. Guess this establishment is so well off they can do with out the business of the neighborhood guests.

Sight seeing in Long Beach marina area. It is lunch time and just simply Google a and find this small ramen restaurant. It is about 5mins driving. Parking by the street in the front. It is week day so there are less customers. We try Shoot, Miso and Tonkasu ramen. The last one is the best. Service is also the best. By the way, their restaurant is very clean. Much better than a brand coffee store by the marina area.

We had a satisfying meal at Jounetsu Ramen. The place is quaint and cozy, and the service was great. I ordered the sesame chicken, miso ramen and the tonkotsu ramen, the chicken was juicy and crispy and both ramens were hearty and flavorful. Both ramen had a creamy broth with tender pork belly, noodles, spinach, and corn, and the tonkotsu ramen had a rich pork broth with noodles, pork belly, egg, and seaweed. The only thing I didn’t like was that the noodles were a bit too soft for my liking, and the portions were a bit small for the price. Overall, it was a good experience but not amazing. 3.99/5 stars.

I’ll give this place one more shot seeing as maybe my experience was a one off. My server was inattentive. I had to ask for basic things multiple times to be brought to me (refill on water, napkins etc) and even had to ask a different server for something to be brought to me as my server was too busy chatting with his buddies. I ordered the spicy tonkutsu. It was not spicy at all. I am wondering if I was served the wrong dish, especially because I realized towards the end of my meal that an egg was not included in my ramen. Other than that it was tasty and I am hoping it will be a better experience next time.

Something happened here…we suspect there is a new chef in the kitchen. Whatever it is, it’s a change for the better! Everything was delicious and fresh. Get the spicy tuna rice bowl!

We kinda got there 20 minutes to closing time (straight from the airport-LAX) we found this gem 5 minutes away from where we were staying. Staff still greeted us (party of 8) with a smile and served us cheerfully! Menu was pretty straight forward…price is ok to me…place is very cozy. Food was great! Whole experience was very memorable specially after coming from -25 *C weather. Thanks!

Miso ramen with pork. Nice presentation, tasted pretty good. Broth is not as rich, deep and flavorful as other Ramen spots & the bowls aren’t as deep. Price doesn’t jive with the product size & quality compared to Santouka or other ramen spots, but it’s decent if you don’t want to drive to Torrance or OC.
