BEST dim sum in Seattle. The staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. We were surrounded by mainly elderly, and it just felt like a big family reunion. The tea is really good. The flavors are AMAZING. I was especially surprised that my favorite dish ended up being the beef tendon soup. I was already so full by the time I got it, but upon tasting it I couldn’t help but finish the whole bowl. It was so rich in flavor and I crave it til this day. I will definitely be going back, this has to be my favorite spot in Seattle.

They changed new owners but haven’t changed the sign yet. The foods aren’t that good. Chow fun salty and the noodle wasn’t thick as we used to order from the previous owner. The sauce for sweet and sour spareribs were plain and they separate the sauce in a container. Would not order here again.

Got shrimp fried rice yesterday (July 4th) to take home and found an actual cockroach in my food. I wasn’t even aware we had cockroaches in washington. I am beyond disgusted, I ate almost the whole plate before I noticed.

Heads up! They changed restaurant’s owner. The chefs also changed and the food taste weird. Recently, I placed the order of 2 dishes that I usually get and they do not taste the same. They have downgraded by a whole lot.

The food and service was okay. The sizzling rice soup wasn’t very good though. Went on Xmas Eve and it wasn’t very crowded. The chowmein tasted good but it didnt have much of the other ingredients other than noodles. Our party enjoyed the salt & pepper pork chops the most. The shrimp with black bean sauce had too much green peppers in it. The shrimp with lobster sauce was good.

We went to try the lobster special. My friend was using the vinegar on the table and found a bug in there, they grabbed another bottle from another table for her, and there are still bug in it. They ended up to get some new fresh one from the kitchen. We also ordered their soysauc chicken special, while we are eating, we saw a live ant on a piece of chicken moving around. I think this place really need to do a deep cleaning. Food taste ok, but i don’t think i will go back again.

Joy Palace is more of an institution than a restaurant. It is my go-to for dim sum. High class? Nope. Running elbows with the elite? Probably not. This is real deal carts with steamer baskets and all your old favorites and some that you have absolutely no idea what you’re putting in your head. Always fresh and delicious, so get there.

I was super excited for the silver fish but it wasn’t like the one that I got in Vancouver BC. Overall most of the food was good.The best was the scallion and ginger crab. The crab was deep fried first. Service was good and they are open on Thanksgiving.
