Joyland was tasty but I wouldn’t say it was worth the almost hour long line. The burgers ARE delicious. Chicken thighs on a stick were okay. The breading slipped off easily so they were a little messy. The crinkle fries are classic. The chocolate malt was heavenly. I was expecting a more finished look on the interior. Besides the three stripe color scheme, I didn’t get the “retro fast food joint” vibe at all. Joyland is a great concept but I didn’t feel like the chef/owner followed through with what he planned to deliver.

Delicious late night eats. Everything is well made, staff and place run smoothly.

Do not skip this restaurant. The menu is limited – which means the things they DO make are excellent. This is one of the top two burgers of my life (the other is Gasoline Grill in Copenhagen, so not readily available state-side ). The Crustburger was my favorite. I wish I had ordered 2. The curly fries were perfect. The waffle fry was surprisingly perfect. The chocolate shake was perfect. Just go. You will not regret it.

So I came specifically for the Chicago dog. As a Midwesterner THIS is the most epic hot dog. I would invite yawl to go to Chicago to get the TASTE. MY TWO PROBLEMS I felt the tomato was too big AND the missing taste? CELERY SALT..I loved the hash brown waffle..super great..the ambience was ok…can’t wait to try the cornmeal chips and take my mom some cornmeal!!!

I’ve tried it and I will say it wasn’t bad but when I say you must get a double for two smashed burgers that’s let than a quarter pound of beef. My friend I was with got a single and it was more bread than meat. We spent over$30 bucks and it was less than filling. We ended up trying a chicken on a stick to suffice for the burgers. Flavor was great but a single at a fast food restaurant would have done the job. Just expected more. Pictures and deceiving on menu. To each is on, try it for yourself

The food was very tasty! I had the Combo Deluxe and the patties were delicious. The fries were crunchy and tasteful. Milkshakes were also thick and full of flavor. Prices were good. Restrooms should be cleaner.

Uhmmm freaking delicious! And such a good price, too! For readers who have seen the film “The Menu,” this burger was exactly what I needed at the end when you see Anya Taylor Joy chow down (iykyk). The chicken joystick was also fantastic. Great fries too! And shakes!! Stop by for sure.

If you are gluten free and looking for some comfort food, this is your spot! I went for breakfast and I got so excited by how much I could eat. I haven’t had biscuits since before I was gluten free, so it’s definitely been a while. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach because I got two sandwiches but brought one home for lunch!

This was stop 13 in the “I’m losing motor functions because the BIL, Jen and I are drinking ALL the alcohol in Nashville” tour and I was disappointed.

We arrived in town after a long journey from Florida; tired from the road and hungry for some comfort, I was overwhelmed to see Joyland was just a block from our hotel. After inspecting the menu, we decided to order basically everything (the nice girl working the counter thought we were crazy)! The crustburger was a must, as was the famous joystick and we had to know if the sweet potato handpie could surpass the pie from Sean Brock’s South cookbook. The food was all very delicious, the crustburger and its sauce are a beautiful pair and the juiciness and seasoning of the chicken are better than one finds at restaurants that would easily charge three times as much. The Chi-Dog was a touch skimpy but still tasty but any sin was quickly forgiven by the absolutely delicious hand pie with its sweet glaze and we paired it beautifully with a bourbon milkshake. The food was truly a joy and we plan to come back often.
