The family surprised me with a brunch outing at Juan del Fuego for Mother’s Day. Mexican food wouldn’t have been my first choice to celebrate but I’m SO glad they knew better. Although we had to wait about 40 min for a table, the food was well worth it. The waitress was super helpful with answering questions and making recommendations based on kids requests. Highly recommend no matter what you’re celebrating!

First time I stopped in. I had lunch by myself. Chips and salsa are extra. (Didn’t want to pay extra). They didn’t offer Sopapillas so I’m guessing it wasn’t part of the meal. Ordered the shredded pork tamales with refried beans and rice. Got beans that, while they weren’t the black beans, weren’t smooth like regular refried. The beans and rice were 70% of the plate and bland. But the worst part was the size of the two tamales. About 5 inches long and 1 inch thick. My fork was wider than they were tall. (And they use small forks). Meager offering for a $15.64 lunch, including a 20% tip and only water to drink.

This place is one of the best places to eat and all of Norman and that says a lot. Great story great owner. Breakfast Mexican food burgers this place has it all. I highly recommend if you have not tried that you do so. Support locally owned businesses like this. There really is nothing on the menu that is bad. So go by and grab brunch or lunch today.

Cute and cozy little Mexican lunch and breakfast spot. Prepare to wait a little bit because the restaurant is small. But it’s definitely worth the wait. The staff is friendly and the food is always good. Pricing is very fair and affordable. The menu has a lot of options. I typically enjoy breakfast from here. The coffee is really good! You can also sit at a bar top and watch the cooks make food. Which I personally enjoy. Definitely give this place a try!

It’s an awesome place for breakfast. Probably lunch too but I’ve only been in the early part of the day. They have the best omelettes and great homemade hot sauce. Service is prompt and friendly. Great place to eat!
