Mimic the Sun
While visiting for 4 days, I ate at this location twice. Best gumbo hands down! This place gets crowded during the weekend so prepare for that. My group had to seat ourselves and was served in a decent time frame.

The outside is still painted with the name of when I guess is the former restaurant “13”. I tried to steer my hungry/drunk out of town friend away, but she wanted chargrilled oysters and a shot. From the bar menu: Three-quarter ounce shot of Espolon $10. Gray chewy oysters covered in a glob of melted Parmesan cheese with no seasoning a dozen for $29. TOURIST TRAP

Great place! Fantastic Gumbo. Had gumbo at a fancy expensive place, and it wasnt any better. Staff is friendly. Definitely worth checking out. Have eaten here twice and have no complaints about food or service. The shrimp Poboy with the seafood bisque overit must be experienced to be appreciated. My mother says the Muffeleta is as good as Central Grocery.
