Wow is what I would say if I could describe Juniper in one word. This restaurant is absolutely incredible, read on to see and learn why:

The chicken schnitzel and short rib dish were top contenders for the night. Overall, high quality food and a dim lit nighttime atmosphere, although for me it was a bit claustrophobic in the back (low ceilings). The staff are all very accommodating however, we moved around a bit, and the food was clearly well made; the pasta was dense. If the mood is right for you, it may be a very nice experience.

Food was not bad and it was a good selection of food but a bit on the pricier side. We really liked the chicken tagine. The Israeli couscos was addicting. The bucatini dish had a nice flavor to it but the pasta was a bit overcooked.

I love this place in ways that can’t be properly measured. Just about every dish I’ve had here was terrific, but in particular, the schnitzel tasted so good that it damn near reset my brain. The dips, the entrees, the cocktails — they’re all stellar, and this is one of the few places where I don’t even think twice about dropping a bit more on dinner.

Juniper doesn’t take reservations and when we arrived at 5:50p there was already a line. Intrigued by this place that has the guts to act like New York in Wellesley we added our name. We sat down within 20 minutes and followed the host to the back. The inside was much bigger than I expected, extending beyond the bar and wrapping around the back of the building.

Dave Becker for president 2024! We had an outstanding dining experience with him and Audrey our server. When Dave found out it was our anniversary he made the experience even more memorable. The atmosphere was welcoming and hip, service impeccable and food was fresh, flavorful and creative. Looking forward to having the rest of the schnitzel as leftovers. Don’t miss the date cake!! We will be back soon! Thank you so much!!

I usually don’t leave reviews — good or bad. My experience about the place and the food was so bad so I cannot simply ignore it. To be fair, the place is OK to get some appetizer and drink. However, it’s a waste of hard earned money on the entree. My friends and I ordered the braised beef along with some other food like pasta and chicken tagine. Mine was so salty, and the presentation was so bad. Believe it or not, you get better food in food courts in random malls. With around $35 and 20% tip, you just get an awful meal. Boston area/ MA, in general, is not really famous for great food and restaurants, but this one was really the worst experience I had as far as I recall. My friends also left most of their plates untouched. the chicken was soft but had a very unpleasant smell. The waiter didn’t care when we talked about the experience. Maybe the place has been good at some point in the past, but the one I went to and ordered food does not deserve this rate. Expensive and low quality food. Don’t let the reviews trick you. It tricked us.

Greater Boston’s hidden diamond. My husband and I moved here from the Midwest where farm-to-table fare is the standard and kindness is king. We hadn’t found anything resembling that in Boston until we came to Juniper. Flawless menu with rich options for appetizers (baba ganoush was outstanding), hearty salads (with roasted veggies because YES), house made pastas and ragus and life-changing date cake desserts. If that weren’t enough, the large team of kind, engaging house staff offered humor and personal touches throughout. They were like a bee hive of witty and collaborative foodies. So heartened by this experience and cannot wait to leave the city limits to enjoy Wellesley’s finest again soon (but in the meantime will be taking a stab at some of their recipes!).

I liked the atmosphere here and the food and drinks are delicious. My girlfriend said this was one of her favorite spots and now I see why.

This place was not for me. We were in the neighborhood visiting Wellesly College and decided to grab lunch.
